Good small hand bender for tubing. Don't try to bend anything stronger than copper tubing. this thing is not super strong and the handle may snap if you're overloading it with a stronger material than copper tube. The tool looks to be made of cast aluminum. Plenty strong for what it's designed for. works well though and bends like a champ. Easy to read angels on the face. accommodate three sizes of tubing. decent price at 16 bucks

This is the first time I have a tubing bender that will work on not only soft copper, but also stiffer stainless steel.First thing I did when I got it was to try bending some 3/8" stainless steel tubing. I did a 90-degree bend very easily. The trick is to get a smooth bend is to not do the bend all in one movement, but to move the handle a little bit, like a half-inch at a time, and make incremental bends. Doing this, I can use the tool to do a very smooth 90-degree bend in stainless steel tubing in about 20 seconds.Couldn't be happier.

I think this is a pretty decent tubing bender. So far it seems to work pretty well on the spare pieces of tubing I have tested it on. My only complaint is that on my tool the rivet that goes through the top handle is loose and has a bit of play where it's riveted into the steel link that joins the two halves of the bender. So far it hasn't seemed to cause any issues when I've used it but I'm concerned if it will get more loose with repeated use.

Sturdy feeling tubing bender, it feels like it is robust and made out of good materials. I first tried it out on some 3/8" tubing and it left me disapointed. It flattened out the outside of the bend and slightly wrinkled the inside of the bend as you can see from my pictures. I then grabbed some 1/4" tubing and it worked perfectly. It left no wrinkles, stretch marks or flat areas on the tubing. the 3/8" tubing just did not seat correctly in the saddle of the bender, thats why it left the marks and flattened out the tubing on the bend. It looks like they did not get the bender machined properly to seat the tubing properly. I mainly work with 1/4" tubing, so this will work perfectly for me, but if you work with 3/8" at all, this bender is probably not the best choice from my experience.

This tubing bender accommodates 1/4", 5/16", and 3/8" tubes. With any of these in copper it works well and relatively easily. I haven't tried it on other materials, like aluminum or steel. I suspect it will work but will require more effort. It's well made.Like so many other vendors on amazon, this vendor has overstated the tool's capability in the pictures. They show rigid copper and aluminum pipes in much larger diameter than 3/8. It doesn't accommodate larger than 3/8 amd I'm not convinced it will work well on any rigid pipe. Its made for bendable tubing.

Same as any other tubing bender I've used. My last one from HF snapped in half when I was using it on some very hard stainless tubing, so keep that in mind because this one doesn't look much different in terms of construction. It's just thin cast aluminum, one way or another. That being said, for brake lines and fuel lines these things work like a charm. I especially like the colorful matte finish on this one too, it's unique and stands apart from the other tools in my box. Can't complain about the price, either.

When I first looked at this tube bender I was surprised at how small it was but in spite of its relatively short handles the linkage provides a great deal of leverage. Not having a tubing requirement at the time I tested it by doing some 90 degree bends on a series of 1/4" solid steel brackets. There was virtually no effort required for this job. There was no spring back on the solid steel rod and the 90 degree indication on the scale was pretty accurate. I have little doubt that loading the tube correctly and using a slow bending procedure will produce good results on tubing although I did not actually test a tube. The leverage should be more than adequate to it by hand i.e. without putting one handle in a vise. Very happy with this little guy.
