It does not fit a DWS780. It's way to thick and will need to run through thickness planer. The point of buying a zero clearance insert vs. making one was to save time. That didn't work out for me.

These are too thick for a DWS780 miter saw. I ordered several of these to confirm this. And the seller knows this as well, but they keep on selling these, claiming they fit a DWS780 saw. BUT THEY DO NOT FIT. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.

As others had mentioned I needed to remove a sliver of a piece to have it fit flush on my dewalt. Overall pleased with it. Will see how it holds up. Easy to install.

If you own a deWalt chopsaw, this is a must have for any kind of finish work. It doesn’t blow out your wood or shred. It can’t beat it for the price. Also Super easy install

The overall product fits a dws779.But to make it functional, you'll need to plane it to the correct thickness so it doesn't sit proud of the deck and the screw holes aren't quite correct, slightly off in location and counter sunk to the exact size of the screw head which is too tight in this instance.Purchased to save time over making one... Yet here i am, making one with the China crap.
