A fish hook is more than a formed piece of wire with a point on one end and an eyelet on the other. It represents the connecting point between you and your angling dreams, whether sitting on lawn chairs catching trout with friends and family or competing at the highest level in the sport. Since 1925, in Denver, Colorado, the men and women of Eagle Claw have been privileged to ensure that connection.

It’s a gig. It’s better made than most at its price point. It has no cover but one can be made easily. It’s just a junky little wire spear-like device for small game. I don’t think I’d buy it again. I’d get a better quality survival gig made out of c&c’d carbon or stainless steal at 4 times the cost. If you are going to carry a survival tool it should be dependable and worth its weight. I’m not sure that this device fulfills those basic requirements. Cool for a fun weekend out. Not much faith in this thing if the situation matters.

It was much smaller than I thought it would be but then you don’t need an anchor for a canoe.

Frog gig worked great!! But one prong has broken off already after about 10 frogs hit a rock and the prong snapped off, but definitely holds them on there well!!

Used this on over 100 bullfrogs last year and the tines are still super sharp. Width is equal to around two fingers on an average-sized hand. Definitely a good buy on a budget. Buddy of mine tried and liked it, so I ordered another for him as a gift for when we're in the swamps together. Just find an old wooden broom stick and attach it to stay on a tight budget.. which should give you plenty of room to spear with a good bright light to blind them enough to get close and not spook them. Took one snake with it on accident, only seen the eyes.. oops guess they were red not green.

I was trying to spear bullfrogs with a sharpened stick. I think I caught one that way after hours of stalking them on a lake. Then I invested in this $10 beauty, screwed it to a broom handle, and caught almost 10 bullfrogs. The barbs are very helpful as those suckers can slip off of a non-barbed spear quite easily and it's a recipe for disaster with them hopping around in your boat.As a side note, bullfrog legs are very tasty and the only palatable part of the frog as I am aware of. Also, bullfrogs are an invasive species on the West Coast and often completely take over pond habitat from other amphibians. So don't feel too bad spearing and eating them.
