Was missing pieces. Contacted EATON and they stated that amazon and ebay are not authorized sellers and then told me I was SOL on the missing parts. Then stated the kit for the parts was 300$. Found it somewhere else for 100$. Was going to just return the unit but then saw the seller has raised the price. Its like I called the wrong number or something and they were just messing with me, but they weren't. Happy I was able to locate the missing parts and it still ended up being cheaper than the unit after the raised price but the part should have been in the box to begin with.

I installed this in my 2016 Ford Transit 350. I was always spinning my drive wheel when transitioning from my driveway to the paved road. With this diff though I don't spin at all. I tried to test it in the driveway to see if I could break either wheel free, but they both spin a little while accelerating quickly. It leaves a dual track now. It drives really mild on the road. No noise or other indications it is there. Just traction. I used Super Tech conventional diff fluid with it.

Don't know it's there. Burnouts to the left burnouts to the right. It's expensive because it works.

Opened box to find plastic bag ripped open, locker was grimy, instructions covered in oily finger prints, parts bag ripped open, and snap ring missing.

03 f150 crew cab 5.5 bed. Installed myself, go slow and do not forget a single step... fast forward 1 year. I absolutely love going off road and pushing my truck to its traction limits (without risking damage). But I have always been very concerned with reliability and the potential for accidental breakage. Lockers are great, but can cause strain on critical components. The truetrack is incapable damaging my truck. As for traction on an f150 in snow, its 95% as good as a locker in my experience. Why not 100%? Because its difficult to go "slow". With a locker on a slick surface I can relatively easily inch forward keeping my tiers close to that break away point before simply spinning and going nowhere. With the TT you need to articulate the throttle with a bit more finesse in order to overcome the obstacle. I apply just barely enough power to slip 1 wheel and forward she goes. Sometimes taking a few tries. Just today I had to reposition the truck in the slanted driveway and lost forward movement. Kept 1 wheel moving as slowly as I could and I got it moving again. Didn't have to engage 4x4 or engage a locker with open spots of concrete scattered around. Just learn how to use it and it works beautifully... And here are the CONS...The TT is heavy. Pulling out of a parking spot or doing slow stop and go maneuvers I feel sluggish. Like I need new plugs and wires, resting idle doesn't move me like it used to. Not noticeable while driving. But unfortunately its going to knock your mpg down a bit. Probably less than 1mpg but hey its over built. My truck will never come close to over powering it. Last con would be if your going sideways on a sideways hill and its slick, get ready to have your back end go downhill cause once that sucker breaks traction with both wheels you are free as a bird! An open diff you just don't go forward any more. Same for Lockers but they can turn it off. The good news is, just engage 4x4 and your in beast mode. No more sliding out. Just stupid more traction.

There is nothing not to like about this Detroit True trac. Reliable Predictable Traction in every situation. Excellent traction in The rain on asphalt grass you name it. Mud Snow and ice are where this thing really shines smooth Quiet seamless traction. And if you like to play and get sideways on purpose sometimes... just Smash that fun pedal on a known slippery surface or dry pavement if you got the power for it . I Love my Detroit Truetrac. I also use Detroit Locker in my 800hp Big block Chevelle. These things are tough and reliable.

Used this to replace the factory clutch-type limited slip unit. The factory unit never worked very well plus it requires a friction modifier additive. Also, they're only really effective for about 20-30,000 miles. This Eaton Detroit Trutrac will last for the life of the truck and beyond as long as I keep the differential case filled with gear oil. I'm going to install one on the front diff too.
