Quadplex or Quad type Circuit Breaker is designed to create (4) circuits in (2) spaces. This allows for 240-Volts circuits. The BQ style breaker has an independent trip as well as a rejection tab feature. These breakers are designed for use in BR type load centers and should be installed only in panel positions that have notched bus stabs that accommodate the rejection clip. In addition, BQ circuit breakers are UL approved genuine replacement breakers for load centers made by Westinghouse, Challenger and Bryant.

It looked like a used product but I have seen many breakers at home depot and lowes. They were already cocked so it probably was a return but I decided to insert it into the box. It worked and it still works after about 3 months. Besides the appearance, it works flawlessly.

There is a general problem with Eaton quad breakers from the factory, the right most switch when looking at the 4 switches does not work. The other 3 switches work fine, just the right most won’t go into place. This caused me to return this item twice. And I went to my local hardware store which had a box of 30/30/30/30 quad switches and every one in that box of 4 switches had the same issue. Basically 6 out of 6 switches were bad. While there, an old guy was stocking and reorganizing the breakers. I asked him if he’s ever seen quad breakers not switch and handed it to him. He said you just have to bang them. I said really? Then he smacked it on the shelf a couple times like hitting the side of a jukebox and it fricken started working. Wow. I grabbed another quad that had same issue, banged it, but it still didn’t work. Gave to him and he put like 50 pounds of force on the switch, said hey did you hear it click? It should work now… and it did. When you get one that doesn’t work, bang it 1 to 4 times, if that doesn’t fix it. Push on the lever multiple times, each way, with 50-100 lbs of force, while banging it on a countertop…. Then you’ll feel a little click and it should start working. It works fine after that
