The best thing I can say about my new Handcrafted Wooden Guitar String Winder by Tenor is that it ain’t cheap! And that is because “it ain’t cheap.” The craftsmanship is excellent. I have used this string winder several times since receiving it last week and it works perfectly. It is made to last unlike the “REALLY cheap” plastic winders I have purchased before. I actually had one plastic winder break the first time I used it. But my new handcrafted wooden winder is well made and I am very happy to have paid the extra cost for one that is so well designed and crafted. These are honestly a good investment for anyone who plays a stringed instrument.

There was actually NO dislikes,,,,,,a beautiful crafted practical piece of work. In stead of a cheap piece of plastic you have a nice looking handmade tool that works great and does what it is supposed to do, doesn’t scratch my $700 machine head tuning post,,,,I like it , good work,,,,,,,recommend it to anyone who has an expensive classical guitar.

This winder is very reasonably priced yet uses much better materials than any I've seen on the market. It's aesthetically pleasing and works smoothly and precisely. This winder will class up the string change on your vintage Martin, Indonesian Squire, 58 Les Paul, or your Harmony acoustic! It makes a mundane task more enjoyable, and I think it would make a treasured gift for any player.

Incredible craftsmanship. This is unquestionably not only the best string winder I have ever owned, but the it is a work of art as well. It is so nice to own something so special to complement my nice guitars. I promise some of you with high quality instruments, that if you pick up this little baby you will be happy that you did. It is a little pricey, but so is your Taylor or Gibson or PRS or Martin. It is a perfectly designed string winder and is as smooth as silk when you are using it. Happy playing!

This not only works efficiently, is fast, easy, and excellent quality. But it is a beautiful piece of equipment. The winder is very well made, high quality, does what it is supposed to do with just the right weight, and mechanically, it is very smooth, and fast when turning and changing strings. I use it on my Martin D28 and my Taylor 12 String, and believe me I am very picky when it comes to my Martin. It is an outstanding winder. Buy it! You will love it!

Nicely made and quite functional. I did make one modification: the buttons and shafts on my J-45 are quite short and the winder cup threatened to bang the side of the headstock in use. Cut a small piece from a self-adhesive felt pad (like the ones sold to put on chair legs) and set it in the bottom of the button cup - perfect! A cushioning pad in the bottom of the cup, controlling the depth the button reaches. I think a small, properly shaped pad of this type should be made part of the packaging with the product; inexpensive and a nice addition to accommodate short-shaft machine heads.

Yes, there are plastic string winders out there...and this isn't one. This is something special that will make the chore (?) of changing strings something you might actually look forward to. Great fit and finish; love the look and feel of the wood; and the tuner slots capably fit two sizes of buttons. Either slot fits the smaller "butterbean" button on my Martin, though the smaller slot is a better fit. The larger slot is a perfect fit for the ancient Grover (patent pending) tuners on the banjo. You don't actually need a handcrafted wooden string winder--but deep down you want one. And you won't be disappointed here.

This is a quality tool. Very well made and aesthetically pleasing. I used it on 6 different guitars this past week end & it worked like a charm. Sure you can get by with a cheap plastic winder but heck, if you treat yourself to one of these you won't regret it. It would be especially nice to give as a gift to someone that plays guitar and does basic string maintenance.
