Our food waste bags are designed to exceed performance expectations. These extra strength food scraps bags offer high leak, puncture, heat and tear resistance. The durable bin liners are made with water resistant resin to ensure the bags stay strong when exposed to moisture, and maintain their strength even when the liner is full. Fitting snugly around the rim of a 30 gallon food waste bin, the base of the bag remains loose to allow for maximum fill, and the bag is finished with an extra strong star-seal bottom to cover the entire base of the compost bin without being pulled or stretched for the perfect fit. These compost bin bags are BPI certified compostable to the ASTM D6400 standard (BPI Cert #890992). These food waste bags are also compliant with all labeling requirements set forth by California law including SB 1383. We use a compostable diaper service that requires us to bag up the diapers in compostable bags. I spent 10 months suffering through other brands of bags getting soft and tearing, double bagging, etc. The final straw came when a bag of full of horrible smelling diapers ripped right as I was rushing outside to make the pickup. Everything scattered all over my living room and thankfully the driver was so gracious and patient with me as I restuffed a week’s worth of diapers into new bags. I almost quit the service but decided to try another brand. Thankfully I found these bags! They work amazingly well. It almost makes me wonder if they’re really compostable hahaha. Don’t waste your time with other brands. Compostable diapering approved!

These bags are barely useable - even fresh bags from the roll tear apart at the slightest touch.

I purchased a box of 6 "Ecosafe~6400 Compostable Bags for Yard & Garden", 30 gallon, 2'6" x 3'3", 1.1 Mil from a big box supply store, and opened the box to use the bags 3 weeks later (directions say to use within 9 months). The first bag tore a long slit down the side just trying to open it. The second bag tore at the bottom when trying to separate from the next bag - there are perforations for separating the bags, but the seam was weaker so that's where it tore. I did get the third bag out almost intact by being very very careful, but I assume it won't hold much weight or anything that pokes or has corners. Useless. Won't be buying any Ecosafe compostables again. Product does not deserve one star, or even zero stars, but negative 5 stars.
