These are not what I would typically call “self-tapping” screws, which are usually designed for sheet metal or other hard materials. Instead, these are high-quality stainless steel wood screws, with moderately sharp, tapered points that resemble standard wood screws. While they could be used for metal-to-wood connections, pre-drilled holes in the metal would be required to ensure proper fastening. Even in wood, pre-drilling is often necessary to prevent splitting or to achieve precise countersinking, particularly with hardwoods. Unlike true self-tapping screws, these lack features like flutes or cutting edges to clear material, which is why they don’t function well without pre-drilling in harder materials.As long as you understand what you’re buying, this assortment is a good value. It has a wide range of smaller sizes in various lengths, suitable for wood, plastics, or pre-drilled metal applications.The cases that come with these and all other EEEEE assortments are next-level. Made from thick, durable plastic, with individual compartments for each fastener type, each secured by its own snap-lock door. The clearly printed labels, along with additional details like pictures of the contents on the “spines,” give a clean and organized look, especially if you have a few sets. They fit neatly on a small shelf, everything inside stays in its compartment, and it's fast and easy to get to whatever you need for a project. Worth picking up their sets of whatever fasteners you typically use.

These are good, durable, screws that have a nice variety of sizes. The head does not strip easily, which is very nice. The box is well organized and it's easy to get the right screw at a glance. I think they are a tad overpriced compared to other options available.

Handy for household applications

I bought these to use on Chinese "stuff" that had a bad screw or needed more screws added. SAE screws don't fit metric holes well. Also, they give me more of a size selection combined with my SAE SS screws.
