This plane is a winner. It has to be the easiest prop plane I've ever flown (and I've flown a few). It's got more than adequate power, handles wind well, and lands like a feather! I had one of these a while back but I was not experienced enough and was afraid to fly it. I'm so glad I decided to pick another one up now that I have some experience.Horizon Hobby planes are almost always great. This one is no different. I would easily recommend this as a beginner plane also. I psyched myself out when I had the first one. The Valiant is one of the better designed foamy RC airplanes on the market, and the price point is incredible!I'm sure I'll be buying another some time in the near future!

Poor quality in fit of some parts, incorrect screw sizes for completion. Aerodynamically , for a sport model, too sharp a wing leading edge leading to sharp & abrupt stall unless flown at high speed.

The Valiant is an amazing intermediate plane but would still be manageable for the first timer. The only reason I wouldn’t say it’s a great beginner airplane is because there are better first planes, like the Carbon Cub 1.3m. The Valiant is fun to fly, predictable, and aerobatic. The flaps are ready to go and work great. You’ll be landing on a dime in no time. You don’t want to bounce it though; it loves to nose over on rough ground. It’s fine on grass, but make sure the wheels are not stuck for first takeoff or you will experience a very short first flight. The plastic prop is very durable, I know this from lots of experience. Keep those landings low, slow, and light and you won’t have any problems. The Good:• It flies amazing. Great handling and feels like it’s on rails• Landings are slow and predictable with the flaps, easy to dead stick it• It looks great and it feels great, very solid• Durable but not indestructible• 3S is plenty of power for this modelThe Bad:• It want’s to nose over on landings as soon as you’re touching the ground• The hatch on the bottom is a bit flimsy• The wings pretty much stay attached, unless you want to keep up with 4 screws• It is a b**** to taxi. LOL…The Awesome:• Very easy to fly• Great aerobatic performance• Sharp styling / looks greatFull discloser, this airplane is my personal favorite. I’m learning to fly the Habu 70mm, but that thing still stresses me out. The Valiant is a joy to fly and will make you look like a pro. With great swooping flybys and high-speed fly-overs, it gains attention for sure. The landings are like spreading butter on warm toast. The turns are on rails. Th Valiant snap rolls like a Blue Angel. It hammerhead stalls like a Pitts. It produces giant arching loops that are guaranteed to induce “nooice”, or “dude…” even from the crusty old gasser pilots at the field.Have fun with this one. Don’t let all the attention go to your head.

An awsome plane but for warning this thing cg perfect without a battery in it so added weight to the tail . And the tail wheel will flop from side to side over time making taxing a pain in arse and unpredictable simple fix

This is a great plane. It fles well and the build was easy. The only complaint are the tiny screws that you would have to use with this plane. The heads on the screws strip easily so make sure you have the right tip driver.

I bought this as a trainer to fly off of a grass runway. While the stock wheels and wheel pants may have functioned fine, I replaced them with Timber EFL5258 wheels. Using the stock axle/screw, I placed a screw collar on each side of the Timber wheels (uxcell 3.05mm Bore Shaft Collars, 8mm OD, 4mm Width). The results were a 4 gram reduction in weight and no issues taking off or landing on grass. The plane on Safe is very easy to fly. Off of Safe, it is capable of aerobatic flight. What a great plane!

I had both Aeroscout and Carbon Cub S2 as trainers and honestly I think this is easier to fly. It doesn't have beginner mode but with safe select it wont roll and you can dial down the rates to make it fly like beginner mode. It handles wind a lot better than the other two as well. Overall very smooth flight and think if you have a remote skip the other two and start with this. One FYI is if you have an NX8 or similar remote and use the feature to import the settings both of them aren't correct. The first one was way off and didn't work and the second one at the bottom just called Valiant the motor cut needed an adjustment to work properly. Might be better just setting it up as an aero model and rather than importing. Also on the templates the flaps needed activated it was set as a non flap plane. Little disappointed about that feature not working but overall once setup the plane is great.

This is a great all around plane. It might be a touch advanced to be a trainer, but with SAFE enabled it becomes very docile and forgiving. Without SAFE, and an ample amount of throttle, it becomes a pretty fast aerobatic machine. The only Cons I can think of is that the battery loads from the bottom, and the binding procedure wasn't entirely straightforward.
