E-Flite UMX Slow Ultra Stick RTF Introduction

Scaled down from the extremely popular Slow Ultra Stick 1.2m and inspired by the classic ParkZone Ember models, the E-flite UMX Slow Ultra Stick is an ultra-micro “slow flyer” that can be flown in even more places and smaller spaces! Use a range of 1S batteries for flying indoors in gymnasiums, garages, and other suitable spaces or to fly outside almost anywhere in calm to low wind conditions. The UMX Slow Ultra Stick is capable of slow and easy cruising and performing basic aerobatics including loops. You can even install the optional LED light set to fly in darker conditions and at night. Plus, you can choose between two factory-assembled versions: the convenient, all-in-one-box RTF (Ready-To-Fly) version that includes a Spektrum battery, charger, and an SLT6 transmitter equipped with a USB-C port for direct connection to a PC for easy plug-and-play use of the included trial version of the RealFlight Trainer Edition RC flight simulator. Or the BNF (Bind-N-Fly®) Basic version that helps you lower costs by using your own compatible Spektrum DSMX/SLT-equipped transmitter, battery, and charger. Either way, you can be flying almost anywhere in just the time it takes to charge a battery!

E-Flite UMX Slow Ultra Stick RTF Overview

The E-flite UMX Slow Ultra Stick is simple and affordable. It’s also incredibly easy and fun to fly for low-time to experienced pilots looking for a no-hassles fly-almost-anywhere experience they can’t get with any other model! Based on the more modern-day design of the Slow Ultra Stick 1.2m and inspired by similar “slow flyer” models from the past, it can be flown in even more places and smaller spaces – indoors and out. Use a 1S 100–150mAh battery to fly indoors in garages, conference rooms, and gymnasiums. Or, use up to a 210mAh battery to fly outdoors almost anywhere in calm to low wind conditions

The item I purchased was defective out of the box and the seller totally stuck me with it... Buyer beware!

While this plane works, it is designed to frustrate the user and to give perfect example of the manufacture's attitude towards their customers. The prop is a custom design only used on this plane, they are designed to pop off even when landing in grass or anything, literally Anything, touches it. And they don't keep them in stock. The prop also requires a n adapter to attach it to the plane, which is also a custom piece that is not stocked and sold separately from the prop that is designed to get lost with it at the first touch of a blade of grass. It comes with one spare, so hopefully you don't have to land this plane when the battery dies...Every other UMX company out there uses props that are readily available here and elsewhere, even those that are designed to pop off when hitting something that would otherwise break a prop.So expect to lose the prop on first flight and the second prop on the second flight and to wait 2-4 weeks for a replacement which will cost about 15$ each, only to be lost on the third flight and to finally hang this on the wall and mark it as a disappointment. The beginner mode on this is so locked down that the plane will not steer more than ~5* one way or the other, this is simply not flyable for anyone and needs to be fixed.
