We were definitely skeptical on how well this would work considering it was inexpensive compared to other machines. However it proved us wrong! It was easy to put together and came with great instructions on how when and how to care for the eggs during the entire incubation process. Out of 12 eggs, 9 hatched and they’re perfect! It does get a little tight in there once they start hatching so we’ll prob do less eggs next time. But definitely worth the money!

I started my first batch as soon as I got it. The tempature went right to 100 degrees, so I didn't have to set it. The Humidity got to 42% and stayed there, even though I install both bottles (the manual said to start with one for a few weeks then add the other. This is because you need to start out with a lower Humidity at the start and increase it later on. 50-55% for the first 18 days, and then it should be increased to 70-75% during the last few days of incubation.) Adjusating the dial did no good. There are two channels for the water bottles but filling them both up does not supple enough area to generate the right Humidity. I filled the outer most area (not fed from the bottles) and it started to rise. When it gets to 55% I will take one of the bottles out for the 18 days and add it back in after that, is it stayes where it is supposed too. None of this is in the manual, but I learned about it with another unit I had and Internet research.

This review is for the yellow12 egg incubator with automatic egg turner. This is a great design to interest kids.The incubator has a programmable temperature thermostat and humidity indicator. I am currently incubating 7 eggs. I placed two temperature/humidity sensors with the eggs so I can check how well it is maintaining the temperature. Over the last eight days, the temperature has stayed within 1.5 degrees, and the humidity has held within 8% of my test indicators. The incubator features two 7-segment displays that show the programmed temperature and current internal humidity. If the humidity drops below 23%, the humidity display will begin alternating between the humidity reading and "EE" (Error). This lets you know that you need to add water as the humidity is low.The egg turner works well, and adjusting the temperature is very intuitive. The unit does have a bright candling function. I am hatching a few Black Copper Marans (very dark eggs), so candling early on was not very helpful for these brown eggs. As mentioned in the instructions, make sure to remove the egg turning disk in the last two days to protect newly hatched chicks from injury. The glass dome is excellent for viewing, but in a cool environment the instructions also recommend keeping the stryro-foam lid (from packing) on top as an insulator.

This is really a 4 star incubator, but I had to give it 5 because it technically does everything it advertises. It was simple and easy to set up. The temperature control was spot on the entire time. The humidity was actually very close for it to be a non technical way of just adding a certain amount of water. I have never done this before. After reading instructions, loading up 12 eggs and waiting 21 days, I had 8 healthy baby chickens. It was easy to clean up in the sink after hatching and put away. 5 stars for those things. Do consider though, for first time buyers, look for these features that this particular product does not offer, also known as cons: 1. The bright LED display lays right next to the candling area. The display is so bright I had to have something to cover up the display be be able to see the egg. 2. Other models have a display to tell you what day the eggs are on, this is important because you have to candle on certain days and stop the rotation on certain days. I had to keep a real calendar to remind me what day they were on. 3. It only holds 12 eggs. It is rare that all 12 eggs will actually hatch so you must be ok with less than 12 chicks, or get one that holds 18 eggs and have better odds of 12 or more chicks. 4. The yellow color of the top of the incubator make its literally impossible to read the white print that tells you what buttons do what. If this model is much cheaper than others and you just want to hatch some chicks, this will do the job, relatively easily.

This review is for the 36 egg incubator. We just received it today and added eggs. The first problem is no clear instructions for assembly are included. The operation instructions aren't as clear as the ones listed in the Amazon listing so I came back on the Amazon listing to better understand. It also ONLY has settings in centigrade which I missed when ordering, but that's a small inconvenience. We are hoping it does a good job.

I had great success with incubating quail eggs with this incubator. I had a different incubator already in process with a hatch of quail, but I was concerned about my older incubator: lately, my hatches haven't been great. When this new one arrived, I moved half of my hatch over into the new incubator. On hatch day, the babies hatching were all in this incubator: it had the right temp and the right humidity. On impulse, I moved all the eggs from my old incubator into the new one: figured they had a better shot in the new incubator. Sure enough, half of those hatched on the following day. I had to help three out of their eggs, but out of those three, two survived. Anyway, I am super pleased with this incubator. The egg light on top works, even though I don't usually use it. It comes with a nice instruction booklet. Helpful hint: keep the styrofoam that it comes packaged in, to assist in insulating it through your hatches. The temp is easy to adjust. Very grateful to have a great little incubator that I can depend on for hatching my eggs! Thank you!!!
