Wasn’t sure if it would work, but I read about using an egg piercer for boiled eggs. Works great!!

We have backyard chickens and I gave up making hard boiled eggs because the shells just kept sticking and destroying the eggs. This product pokes a hole in the bottom and allows for the shells to just slide right off for peeling. A MUST have if you own chickens!

Works great. Pierces the shell with ease. Makes peeling the eggs a breeze.Bring water to a boil. Pierce eggsPlace eggs in boiling water and cook for 9 min to fully set yolks, 6-1/2 for ramen eggs (liquid center)Place eggs in ice water to cool. Crack the shell and roll it around to crack the rest and the shell just falls right off. I wish I bought this 40 years ago.

I was on a quest to boil eggs and not have a major pain while pealing. This thing didn't seem to make much difference, and furthermore it's very precarious whether you're going to break the whole egg apart or not. Instead, boil your eggs cold, plunge in an ice bath after 8 minutes. Then peel from the tip in a straight line down to the bottom. From there you can peel off the entire shell like it's taking off a jacket.

Once in awhile one will crack. Keep a lidded bowl nearby to put the cracked eggs in so ypu can scramble them later. The ease of peeling your boiled eggs make the occasional cracked egg totally worth it.

First attempt on pushing the egg down, it shattered. Raw egg everywhere. So then I held down the rim and quickly tapped each egg down to pierce it. Absolutely no difference for peeling easy. No eggs cracked while cooking but peeling was still a pain. Didn’t work. Don’t but. I had better luck with adding baking soda to the water the using this device.
