This retort stand is made of chemical-resistant cast iron, and features a tapped hole, suitable for rods with a 10mm x 1.5mm metric thread. Stand measures 6" long, 6" wide and approximately 2" in height. Stand weighs 2.6lbs, providing superb stability for basic experiments & setups. The base has a good footprint and is sufficiently heavy to support most glassware in most instances. My only issue is I have to add some rubber pads under the feet to keep it from inadvertently sliding. Otherwise, it is more than adequate for my needs
