Doesn’t work as good as some I have used before. Takes too much to shock. I can leave my hand on there a while before I feel anything. Dog knows he can get it off without feeling anything.

This is the second mat I've ordered from this company. It stops working literally five minutes after turning it on. There are no instructions on resetting it. There are no options to get replacements sent. This company and it's products suck. I want my money back immediately and I will buy a competitor's mat.

Worked well until the battery needed replacing. Followed all the instructions on replacing, resetting, checking the screws in the battery box, etc. and still the battery light flashes. Return window closed prior to expected 6 week battery life. Stuck with 2 non working units.

I got this scat mat to replace a petmate brand one that my bengal cats broke. The length is fairly long but it's not very wide. We use this to keep our cats from scratching at the door in their cat room. I didn't give it 5 stars just because I find the button to turn it on/off kind of annoying. My other scat mat had a switch and it was clear whether it was on/off. This one has a button that either turns on the different modes (can do a beep noise, a shock, or both) and also turns it off. You have to press it once to go between the modes and hold it down to turn it on/off and also to change the intensity settings. A couple times I have changed the settings instead of turning it off because it's not quite consistent on how long you hold it. I just found the switch easier to use on my other one. I also don't think the beeping noise did anything other than drive me nuts. It seemed to go off on its own all night long when I had that setting on.Other than those minor annoyances, the shock is fairly decent and it works to keep my cats away from the door. I will say that it doesn't help train them per say. They know to stay away from the mat and not the door itself. If I don't put it up, they go back to scratching. Just be aware that this will likely need to be a permanent thing to use vs a training tool- particularly if you have more intelligent animals.

This product works at least for my cats. It trained them in a few days to not jump up on the kitchen counters. I have been telling them not to do it for years, but now with this product they know I am serious.No more cleaning hair off the counters. The item was simple to understand and came with clear instructions. It works as a capable deterrent to activity that occurs when I am not home or in the immediate room.The item has thick plastic and should hold up for a while. I am not sure how long the 9V battery will last, but time will tell.Highly recommend.

My cat, Honey Badger, is stubborn. It had gotten to the point that we couldn't leave ANYTHING on the counter without her getting into it. We've tried squirt bottle, noises, and even just standing guard until she gave up.I saw this and hoped. It arrived, but I had to wait until I got a 9v battery. So, followed directions, set it up... armed it and waited. I heard her jump on the counter and right back down. I chuckled. Because she's stubborn, she tried it again, and again she lept right off!Then she came out and glared at me for the counter "biting" her!!! Sorry to say but... I laughed at her indignant look.She tried it maybe one more time we were asleep, and hasn't tried since.I have it stretched across the sink area now, and I think she hasn't made any attempt to leap up on it.Best investment! I tested the zap, and it stings about the same as an electric fence. Definitely enough to let a cat know that they shouldn't touch it!I'm thinking of getting a couple more so that we can sleep with our bedroom doors open again.If you’ve tried everything else, give this a try!

I've used a Scat Mat for years and can honestly say they work and work well!This 5' long one is perfect for tables, counter tops, sofas, beds, hallways and door openings. It takes a 9 volt battery and I've used the same battery in my original mat for several years. This one comes with complete easy to read instructions. Made of vinyl they can be wiped clean with a damp rag and roll up for storage when not needed. The current is very low [gives a tingle similar to low voltage ] so it doesn't really shock/harm the animal and once they feel it they avoid it at all costs even when its not on! I don't have dogs but can attest that they work great on cats! For the aggravation and/ or damage they prevent, they're money well spent.
