Works great! Keeps everything nice and warm while I'm working on other dishes and so easy to set up. Really convenient if you host a lot at your house

Always trying to make sure that the food gets done and stay warm. With these we had no issues keeping it warm for serving.

Fantastic! Not my first, so I was already in love with these mats. But my other one is finicky on the cord, so this one is even better because the cord (same exact style) fits in nice and snug. I chose the white/beige option. Looks nice.WOW, it heats up fast, and it definitely gets quite hot to the touch, too hot depending on which heat setting (in a good way). So lovely and effective. Controls are easy to use and figure out.Take note of the dimensions provided. Roughly 24" x 16", including the control panel strip. The product pics are comically inaccurate (shows a whole buffet spread out on this, lol-but I think they are just showing the different things it could be used with). To visualize, it fits two full size (10.24") dinner plates with a little room to spare around it. Could nestle in some smaller bowls or saucers.I recommend using a lid or other cover if you really want to maintain temperature. That just makes sense. I had a small casserole, and it was nice to see the steam still coming off after I had set it down on this (and had tinfoil across the top).I have also used this to help keep plates warm before and while I am plating food. Nice to set warm food down on warm plates, and know that the food will stay warm until we are ready to carry them off to our dining area (recliners in front of tv, lol).VERY pleased with the timer. It has option for 60 mins and 120 mins. Info on page shows 180 and 240 as well, but I didnt notice it. I may have simply missed it.No need for anything underneath it. It is a silicone mat with little silicone nubs (feet) on the bottom. Also has a child lock.Cleans up easily enough (its just silicone), is lightweight, rolls up pretty small, has a fabric drawstring storage bag, and the box it comes in is sturdy and retail-like.I would absolutely consider this for buying as gifts. If you have folks that you dont know what to buy them, or they already have everything.. I doubt they have this. What is good is that it simply doesnt take up much room at all. Love just rolling it up and sticking it anywhere that has just a little room to spare. Wonderful

For my family Christmas dinner this year I'm doing something different - buffet style. Same dining room table, same foods, but I'm moving the serving dishes to large folding tables with these warming mats. People can serve themselves then return to a much more open table to sit and eat. We'll see how well that change plays out with the family, but I'm hoping it's easier than constantly passing dishes around the table and interrupting others for second servings.Instead of chafing dishes and burners, I'm using these mats (this is only one of a few I'll be using); so, I tried it out today to be sure it's in working order before Christmas. Once you open the box, you'll find the mat rolled up in carrying/storage sleeve. It has a velcro strap that keeps it rolled and the electrical cord is found separate in the box. It is easy enough to get it set up and plugged in, the test is really if it heats well and that the controls/directions are simple enough to understand. The universal symbols for three of the controls are easy enough to understand, but at first I couldn't figure out the symbol with the heart. Apparently, the heart is the child lock. This is the only mat I have with a child lock. The child lock won't stop children from touching or burning themselves on the mats but it should stop them (or adults for that matter) from changing the settings of the mat. This is not necessary for my needs but I could see where some would appreciate this feature. This mat has a window display where another I have does not. The window display is great so there's no guess work as to time, temperature, and temperature units. I had to fuss with the temperature control a bit till I could understand what was happening... changing to Fahrenheit instead of Celsius (hold 3 secs), then trying to set the temperature (hold 5 secs). It kept switching up on me but in the end I got there. The off/on and timer buttons worked fine. You can see the temperature of the mat climbing in the window display. This mat is roughly the same size but thinner than others I have. I does heat up fast and you can touch it briefly when it's hot and not get burned - but you wouldn't be able to keep your hands on it for long. I felt the countertop under the mat and it was only slightly warm despite the mat being thinner and at the highest temperature. (No matter what, I would never trust any of these warming mats on my fine furniture, but a countertop or folding table should be okay.)In a nutshell, this mat is easy to use and store; takes a bit of time to figure out the controls, but will definitely keep your food warm once you do. The price point is in the same range as other similar mats.
