My daughters Water/Ice Dispenser stopped operating on her Frigidaire Refrigerator. I removed the unit and found the arm that activated the switch was broke. I was able to make a temporary repair by modifying the return spring. Order this replacement, and after 15 minutes, had the repairs completed. All things operate perfectly now.

The plastic hook holding the spring that pushes the cup lever back out broke off. Once I got it apart, the part number on my unit was ELUX 242270201. I couldn't find that part number online, but looking at pictures, I thought this was the same thing and went ahead and got it. I don't seen any difference in the two part numbers, and it worked as it should after it was installed. It's annoying that you have to spend $130 to replace the entire assembly because 1/8" piece of plastic broke off, but at least it is a 15 minute job. Six screws and four cables. You need to pinch the connectors to release a latch when removing them.

We ordered this after the retention clip on ours shattered.This most certainly works to replace it, however it is a different part number than what’s listed. It’s important to note this as this unit will not reconnect to the LED strip that the original part does. Water and ice work fine, but the LED light will not turn on when you press the lever back.If you’ve saved your original piece, you can splice the wire connector for the LED into their spots on the new unit and it will work.

Scary story: I'm watching TV and hear the water go on at the fridge. I think it's my wife filling a pitcher but NO! She wasn't even there! Water is pouring all over the floor by itself. Three gallons of water on the floor later... found out the plastic switch actuator and a spring broke on the OEM part, and I had to shut off the water to get it to stop. (Thank goodness we were home and not on vacation!!!!!) Took me a while to find the right head (square) to take out the screws, so I could disconnect the wires and remove the bad unit. Used part number to get this at a good price, so I could replace it. Saved me a ton of money doing it myself rather than calling a refrigerator repairman. This was a perfect fit and replacement to get the water/ice maker working flawlessly again. VERY HAPPY!
