I didn't know what to expect because these are so cheap, but they are amazing. I was worried they would be so sharp that I'd constantly be splitting my plies, but I've had almost no problem at all. I used to mostly use a .8mm beadle needle, and a .5mm crochet hook for beads too small for that, but I use this for everything now. I can load it in seconds so stopping to reload isn't a pain. And multiple hooks means that if I'm doing multiple colors I have one hook per color. Honestly, life-changing, and probably enough hooks to last me for the rest of my life.

These needles are thin but using thinner thread has been working for me. I'm currently using embroidery machine thread, silver.i started with tatting thread to experiment with size 80 and it didn't work well. Keep in mind these needles are .5 mm and thread must be smaller than that to hook well. I have had the thread pop off as I was bringing it up. I have luneville needles and these are my first aari needles and I bought the set with all three styles. I bought them so I could make custom laces for ballet costumes. The luneville needles kept snagging so I tried these. I'm finding that working with a light that shines on my needle helps me to see that I've rotated it far enough to to prevent snagging with both the luneville and aari needles.also using an embroidery hoop has been disastrous and I fashioned a stretch bar frame using a cheap canvas from Walmarts. I removed the canvas and put strips of cloth to fasten my working fabric to it and pull it tight. All of this helps how these needles work.
