I tried several newer models Nest and others but we did not like them controlling our heat and a/c. Good old fashioned product! Easy to install.

This is a replacement for one I had. I prefer plain & simple, where I can turn the air conditioner, heater, or blower on and off when I want it and still have the thermostat tell me the temperature of the room, even when off. It looks good and is easy to use. If you don't want all the fancy settings to program and re-program, this is for you. My last Emerson thermostat was the original when the house was built in 1979. You can't beat that kind of durability! I am not familiar with wiring, so I had someone install it, so I cannot comment on that, but the wires do have to be hard-wired (not plug-in, like a computer). So I went down 1 star for install. But none seem to be for a lay-person who know nothing about electricity.
