The POROMETISTO EMF meter is a nice omnidirectional RF meter.I'm a ham radio operator, and figuring out RF wattage at a distance is pretty important. This handheld EMF meter makes it easy to plot out antenna radiation patterns (and make sure I'm within MPE limits). It's got a fast sampling rate (less than 0.5 seconds) so the display updates very quickly. It's high contrast display makes it easy to read in both low light and bright light areas. Because of the sensitivity of the device and how the alarm levels are set, the alert can be a bit annoying at times, but is easy to shut off (just hold down the alarm button). It does pick up cellphone radiation (shows a difference when talking on the phone vs just normal data operations). It was able to show the strength of my wi-fi router and how the signal dropped off over distance and within the next room, as well as picked up the RF emissions from my HT transmissions. It is made with rubberized plastic, seems fairly durable, and there is a seal between the battery compartment so would think this would be fairly water resistant for use outdoors. As for ghost hunting, either my house is infested and it's why the meter is all over the place (or more likely it's due to the many wi-fi devices and smart home LED bulbs we have throughout the house - what was interesting is my phone has less signal than my Alexa devices did). What I liked about this device is that it does have a gaussmeter and was sensitive enough to pick up the speaker vibrations. It does come with 3 AAA batteries, but after a day of surveying my house and testing various devices and radios, they did appear to be almost drained - so depending on your usage patterns you might need some more batteries.I was surprised at the sensitivity, and it seems that the device is fairly accurate. It was seems to be a great value for the money (as compared to other EMF devices).

I had to give this thing 5 stars because I couldn't find anything major wrong with it. I am not crazy about the battery compartment - you need a screwdriver to changeout the 3 AAA batteries - which they supply. But, everything else seems great. For starters, I like how the display lights stay on/don't go off every 20 seconds or so like my old meter. And the combination of an analog and digital display is nice. You can also pick which magnetic field units you want to see. This new meter gives readings pretty close to my old meter so I think they are accurate. My old meter doesn't have the RF testing function like this one does (just electric and magnetic field testing). See the picture of me testing my WiFi/Router with the RF function. What is interesting is that the RF from the microwave oven isn't too bad but the magnetic field reading is off the charts! (Electric field is high, too, but not as bad as magnetic.) See the picture of the two meters side by side on top of my microwave oven. You can easily tell if that radiation you are detecting is real by just turning the appliance on and off while you are taking the readings. The scale that this new meter uses for danger zones is a little different from my old meter. This new meter will say caution/yellow for some things when my old meter is flashing red (old meter only rates radiation as good or bad). Overall, very satisfied with it. Oh, and as another reviewer has said, you really need to take your hand(s) off it to get a good reading. It is weird. I get no EMF reading from my hands (I can zero the meter out while holding it) but I definitely get higher readings when I am holding it than when I set it down and back away from it. The temperature and humidity readings seem to be accurate (compared to other thermometers/hygrometers I have).

I am familiar with EMF meters. We have a lot of fun with our previous EMF meter, but it has short battery life, it’s expensive, and we need an affordable back up. I decided to give this one a try. It is at a lower price point which is nice as long as it does the job well. Units are in mWm2 (vs uWcm2 of our previous meter).Pros: Has dark screen background which is easier on the eyes, especially in the dark, and saves battery life. It has digital battery readings and temperature readings which is very helpful. It only needs 3AAA batteriesCons: This meter is much less sensitive to pulses and therefore can not record the peaks. On mag and electric settings, it is less sensitive. Frequency range is more narrow on RF, but magnetic and electric seem to be equal to our other meter.Overall, I think this is a good choice for an entry level EMF meter and a good value for the money.
