Someone once said a neck pickup I had.. sounded like a Rooster!! LOL. This does not. Just adds a little "fatness", so it's not so thin and nasily on the higher notes. I tend to say, I neglect the neck pickup in most cases, but with this one, I do use it. Gorgeous cleans when mixed with the bridge!

My guitar shipped with EMGs 81/81. While using the middle position on my selector is meant to cut through most mixes, this configuration seriously limited what I could do outside of metal/hard rock rhythm playing. I mostly only used my bridge pickup. The neck pickup always left me wanting more and, using the middle (both pickups) was always way stronger than I've ever needed.Swapping in the 60 for a 60/81 config has the neck pickup producing much warmer, fuller and, far more expressive single-note tones and, cleans that put the 81 to shame. It sounds almost like an acoustic guitar. I'm loving the upgrade and the added versatility!

Ohhhhhh yesssss! Bless the liquid leads bubbling from EMG 60's ceramic centered coils. I thought my EMG sound was bliss dude, but 85 in bridge 60 in neck just transcends! You wont wanna stop playing man. I mean ....D#$N!!!!

It's says it's a neck pickup, but i put it in the bridge position and it rocks 🎸. Sounds better in the bridge position than my emg 81 of my emg 85 pickups. I put my 85 in the neck position. Anyway all i can say this emg 60 is assume....

Installation is a breeze with the solderless wiring kit and they sound great! They sound like emgs! Of course...

I bought this to replace an 85 that came stock in one of my guitars. The 85 was muddy, dark, and really without any definition. The 60, by comparison, really sings in the neck. Clean tones are clear and articulate. Warm, but not lacking presence. Dirty tones have good sustain and cut through quite nicely.

I bought this along with an EMG 81 active pick-up and put them into my sons electric guitar. The installation process was painless do to the prewired harnesses. I had to do a small amount of soldering to wire in the selector switch but again that too was painless. The only problem I had was in trying to concele the circuit board and battery. Ultimately I ended taping the battery outside the back cover but was able to make the circuit board fit underneath. The sound combination is outstanding and my son is very pleased.
