What's not to like,. The right amount of Lowe's mids and highs and chugs tight and big and handles what you push into it,. My new favorite speaker.

Way better than the classic v30s this has a wider range than just the normal scooped mids you get from celestion, definitely worth the purchase

Awesome speaker. Nice tight lower end and crisp mid, highs. It seems to sound good with any kind of music played through it not just metal.

My whole life I have chased "that tone".... You guitarists know what I mean... that tone you hear on your head that you search high and low for.... Well, for me.. I have found it!This speaker is EVERYTHING I have been searching for. The sound is warm, but aggressive when it needs to be, thick but stand out in the mix for those leads, and heavy chug machines for those grindy, meaty riffs. Those looking for a Zakk Wylde, Mick Thompson, etc type of metal sound, these speakers are worth a try, you will NOT be disappointed.Want a nice hard rock / rock sound.. mix 1 of these with a V30 in a 2x12. Want a cab that can legit do ANYTHING you want sound wise? Do what I did... buy 2 Swamp Thang's, but 2 of these DV77's, and X them in a 4x12. I recommend an oversized cab made of nice thick plywood if possible for the cab itself. So, in closing, if you want AMAZING, THICK, Metal tone coming from your speakers, then these will be a welcome investment, just do it!

This is my first assembly of my own speaker cab. I checked reviews of this vs vintage 30 and I was liking what I heard. Now that I set it up, I am hoping to do another one with a vintage 30. My only experience with vintage 30’s was in the studio—Mesa Boogie 4x12. I can’t actually say if one sounds better than the other. I haven’t tried them in my own comparisons, and that is personal opinions anyway. I am well pleased with the DV-77.
