Our nasty 1970’s boring fireplace had no mantle and the previous owners had covered the old tiles but never finished the edges. Needless to say it was unsightly. Being used to traditional fireplaces with a proper place to hang our stockings at Christmas I knew what we needed. I also knew we didn’t need to spend a lot of money. We have basic skills but not enough to build one from scratch. This mantle surround is perfect. It is classic without being fussy and it made our frumpy fireplace look like a million bucks. My husband put it together in a very short time and attaching it to the wall was not a problem. I’ll paint it right after the New Year as I don’t want to wait to hang up the stockings!We had a minor problem and I contacted the vendor who responded quickly and was most helpful. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a nice home improvement weekend project.

Exactly what I imagined. Looks more expensive. My contractor put it together. Picture is not a totally complete job but couldn't wait to write the review. Would definitely buy again .

2 pieces came cracked and 2 others needed repaired before I could even begin. Although it came “primed” it had never been sanded, that took most of the primer off. So long story short, not a good buy.

The fireplace mount came in about 10 pieces and it was very hard to put together. Had to buy some extra molding pieces to make it look finished. But I love the end result. So better than paying $600 for a custom mount.

Very happy with the new mantel especially for the price! Since we installed it on an existing brick fireplace, we had a contractor install it. The legs needed to be cut down a bit because it went on top of a foot high hearth. Highly recommend, but depending circumstances may need professional help installing. Looks fantastic!
