My niece's daughter's little Buick has the 4 cylinder that will do reasonably well if it's maintained but she doesn't do that stuff. She's an artist attending school and buying up blank canvas like crazy. LOL. So I stepped in and changed out the timing chain and phasers for the advance on the cams with this nice little kit. I had the shop guys do it for us and they reported it had everything needed and was better than the original stuff from GM.

There are various engine timing chain kits for the GM Ecotec Engines. This kit looks to be good quality with all the parts necessary to completely rebuild the timing chain system. There is a new style tensioner and all necessary torque to yield bolts that must be replaced. Some kits that are available do not include these bolts. Other parts like guides, sprockets and new chain, etc. There are other kits available that cost four times more but just comparing this kit to a $300 kit does not show any real difference. As with any vehicle part made in a foreign country, time will tell!
