I switched from tent camping to hammock camping two years ago. (and never looking back!) I'd been using a $40 underquilt from an unpronounceable company and was happy with it for three season camping.Looking at winter camping, I upped my game and bought this one for $180, the warmest in the Eno line. I've used it twice, and prefer my former one better.This one is not nearly as warm as I expected. I used it in late spring (lows around 60), and was quite chilly with only a light blanket inside the hammock. I was counting on the deluxe Vulcan to perform like a sleeping bag.I have not figured out how to close the top of the quilt around the top to make a cocoon. It has some exposed string/elastic that seems to be for that purpose, but I haven't figured it out. It stays quite open at the top, with a foot or more of open air between the sides.If I'd paid $50 for this, I'd give it 4 stars, easy. But at this price, I expected FAR better performance. Unfortunately, the return window is long closed, so I can't return it.

Absolutely priceless item for a hammock in cool or cold conditions. I actually use mine in my house as the only place to hang my hammock inside is I’ve a vent. Could not enjoy my hammock without this underquilt! Wonderful item

I camped out two nights when got down into the low 40s. Had the UQ fitted well enough. Didn’t freeze but absolutely had cold butt and legs. Second night I added more base layers and was still chilly. I thought hitting middle of the stated temp rating would work but just didn’t perform well enough for me. I sleep cold so others might not think it’s that bad. Stayed toasty above but below was just not great. The quality seemed really night and it packed small. I just think i need a better UQ for the range so I returned mine

Just what I was looking for, kept we warm all night, easy to set up and it comes with a stuffing sack, loving it and it's a must if u do hammock camping.

I used this for a section on the AT. With rain for 2 days, off and on showers, I was expecting to potential end up a bit damp in the morning.Well, not even a little damp. The Vulcan shed all the water that hit it, Kept me warm and dry, without me even noticing thru the night. On nights when the weather was dry, I may as well have been sleeping in bed I was so comfy.As far as the setup goes, at 5'7" this was a good fit. Anyone taller over 6' will possibly have issues with this being too short.The top doesn't close entirely allowing some draft, but a little creativity and it can be figured out. (I used the tension lines to "shoelace" the top, keeping it closed.)

Super warm and easily adjustable. Takes 30 seconds to set up on a hammock. It’s pretty big though recommend a stuff sack.

Good design and easy to integrate into hammock system. Would like to have had some ability to pull it together across center line.
