Product Description

The Ergodyne Chill-Its 6602 Evaporative Cooling Towel uses a super evaporative PVA material to absorb water to then allow it to evaporate slowly for instant, long-lasting cooling relief. This super-evaporative PVA material is designed to create a feeling colder than ambient air temperature and absorb and hold more water than other cooling towels on the market for a longer-lasting cooling. This neck cooling wrap can be used for hours or for quick relief and is completely reusable, just re-wet to activate.

HOW TO ACTIVATE

Run the PVA cooling towel under water for one minute or until saturated, wring out excess water and twirl or snap in the air for no-drip cooling. Drape the towel around neck or head for instant cooling relief. Material will dry stiff, simply rewet until soft to activate, and it’s ready to go again. Towel can be reused over and over. Before storing, examine product for dirt and debris. If soiled, machine wash then store in plastic tubing container for safe keeping.

This evaporative towel is the perfect cooling headwear for anyone working in the heat and exposed to possible heat-related illnesses like heat cramps, heat strokes, or heat exhaustion are possible. Great for workers in construction, carpentry, mining, landscaping, OR for outdoor activities like camping, yoga, baseball, softball, soccer, running, biking, days at the beach or on a boat, golf, yard work, fishing, gardening, hiking, riding motorcycles and more.

Great size and definitely works. I put it under the tap, wring it out then give it a few shakes. Keeps me cool for about an hour before I need a redo. I work as a tradie so am always running hot!

Prompt shipping and timely delivery. The cooling towels are the greatest thing since sliced bread! I will be doing an outside venue jewelry show and will use this on that day (as I have in the past). I might even be able to sell the extra ones I bought to customers who are hot.

I drive a forklift in a warehouse with no air conditioning during the summer so it tends to get very hot. This thing helps immensely, it's the difference between being miserable all day and feeling somewhat comfortable. It's basically like when you sweat and get in the wind, it cools you off quite a bit. These hold water with a fan blowing on them for 3-4 hours average for me. I just douse it will cool water on break and keep my forklift fan on full blast and feel great. Well worth the price.

I cannot emphasise enough how this product has helped us! We have a child with special needs who is unable to cope with alot of sun and unable to regulate body temperature also has allergies to most man -made fabrics . After searching for sun hats which made his head hotter and itchy and trying everything we possibly could think of my daughter found this product so we thought we would give it a try. Thankfully it has worked!! He is able to carry it in his school bag and put it on his head or wherever he needs it and no dripping which is also good as he doesnt like his clothes wet. We take it everywhere, its in a handy case and it helps with for his Autistic meltdowns sometimes.Massive relief that it hasnt caused a skin reaction and we are getting him the sunhat. School staff think its a brilliant idea too. Made life so much easier!

I bought this item for an unusual purpose, I used it to keep my small dog cool at the beach. We went to Florida in 90+ heat and wanted to make sure he could withstand the weather (typically not a warm weathered type and pants if I don't turn the air on in the car immediately). He still panted (expected) but he immediately took to it. It worked out great! We would wet the towel in the ocean or with a thermos of cold water and place it down and he went and laid on it. I kept feeling him to make sure he was never too hot and he never was, his underbelly was always cool to the touch because of this product. I took one star away because I cannot (personally) see putting this around my neck and be comfortable. I think it would be bulky and suffocating and did not try it. It deserves five stars for certain purposes - not as a cooler around my neck though again that is definitely a personal feeling. If you are a person who would wet a towel and place on head or neck, then yes this will keep you cool longer than a towel - a lot longer and good buy for the price. If you are someone who works outside in the summer and are hot, sweating and suffering - get this. You can cut it up and hide under your hat if you wear a uniform, slit in longwise in half and use as a neckerchief - transform it and stay cool. Definitely good to take if you have kids - wet it and put it on their heads or arms and you won't hear "I'm hot!" you should hear "I want the towel!" No brainer for me as far as trying it out, good price and worth the try.

Our sons play baseball most of the summer, and with the 100 degree temps recently I decided to order this towel and try it. We've used wet towels and even frozen freezer packs with mixed success, and were looking for something that didn't freeze the skin or get warm.I was amazed at the way it works! Yes, it does look like a regular towel, but unlike wet towels, it doesn't get warm when applied to hot skin. I took this cooling towel to the ball field, tucked in among the ice and drinks in our cooler. I wrung it out and let our son wipe his face and arms with it, then put it around his neck and shoulders. It stayed cool for a long time, and just waving it in the air re-cools it for more relief. When it started drying out, I re-wet it and my son was noticeably cooler for the entire game.I didn't notice any unpleasant odor from it, like some reviewers did. I wrote our name on it with a Sharpie marker, and rinsed it well in the sink before the first use. I also threw it in the washing machine with the uniforms after the game, and then stored it damp. It comes in a hard plastic tube for storage when the season is over, and I plan to order a couple more of these towels to help deal with the heat. Great product!Edited to add: we also bought a Frogg Togg towel to use during this hot summer. We like this Chill-Its towel better than the Frogg Togg because it has more of a chamois-like texture. Both towels work equally well, and both towels come with a plastic storage tube, but the Frogg Togg towel has more of a rubbery texture that we found less pleasant against our skin.

I have three products with me to test:Ergodyne Chill-Its,Frogg Toggs Chilly PadYour Generic Paper Towels (Control)Examination:I tested all three with different parts of my neck. Paper Towels are okay, they still feel cool, since water absorbs heat like crazy. This is the control. However, after using Ergodyne and Frogg Toggs, I noticed that they were significantly cooler, since they stayed cool, where as Your Generic Paper Towels will stop being cool after a few minutes.Anyways, Ergodyne when opened, smelt like gasoline, corn oil, or diesel. Fairly off-putting, I had to use soap and water to clean it. As of right now, (15 minutes later) the Ergodyne is less cool than my Frogg Toggs, suggesting that they evaporate water much quicker than Frogg Toggs. In any case, when I opened the Frogg Toggs, it smelt as if someone wiped their...A** with it. Quite like if you had the mixture of manure and some sort of sour or expired milk. This was the most off-putting of smells. I still smell it faintly, even though it was washed with soap and water. And Paper Towels? I don't think I need to evaluate them, since everyone can test with a paper towel.Findings: All seem to be cool to the touch, but some are a bit cooler than others. Why? I assume that Frogg Toggs absorb and retain the most water, making them the most "cool".#3: Paper Towels: Paper Towels are cool, but don't match up to the other two.#2: Ergodyne: Not as effective as Frogg Toggs, but if you're hot you probably won't know/care about the difference.#1: Frogg Toggs: The most effective, but Ergodyne's is a close second. In short, this Ergodyne towel is nice and it works, but for ten dollars, I feel that I could just use some regular ol' towel for a much cheaper price. At least they don't smell.Edit: And you could just buy a towel, because I used a new test, a damp shirt. After getting a splash of juice on it, I applied some water and soap. I then questioned the efficacy between a damp shirt and this towel. I then placed my towel near the stain. There was no real difference in temperature between this towel and this a wet shirt. In order to get this towel cold, I advise placing it in a fridge, or as a chilled/frozen plastic bottle water cover.Update: If your towel starts to get warm, please grab the towel and spin it around in a circle. That'll make it cool again.
