A spring loaded barrel cord lock closes bags, hoods, hats, etc. fairly securely and without tying. I needed these to clip small Bungie cords together (also purchased from amazon). There are two types of cord locks in the package, one with a single opening and another with two openings (see pic). The cord lock with the single opening seems to work great. However, the cord lock with two openings has a spring that is too weak. You can see in the picture that the spring in the single opening version is twice the size of the cord lock with two openings. Overall I rated them as 4 stars because the single opening version is useful to me and the price was right. If I had it to do over again, I would purchase only the single-hole version.

I have a fairly expensive parka that I bought a few years ago. Ever since I got it I have been frustrated that I couldn't snug up the hood. It had elastic loops on each side, but no way to secure them once you pulled them to tighten the fit of the hood. I contemplated buying a new parka this year, but decided to give these spring clips a try. The packet came with several different type. I put them on each side of the elastic loops. I threaded each loop through a pair of clips. When I put the parka on I was able to snug up the hood and lock the elastic in place with the new clips. Yay! This will buy me a couple more years of use on an otherwise nice winter coat.

These plastic cord locks are easy to use, and I find them extremely useful to have "on hand" in the house for the inevitable old pair of sweatpants or draw-string backpack. Additionally, until I ordered this package of clips, I had never used the cord locks with two holes (pictured on the right). They work better than I expected, and I even find them preferably in in some situations! I used a two-holed lock for the cord I use around my neck to hold a name tag. Sometimes I like the length short, so the tag is visible, and sometimes I want a longer length so I can hide the tag below my jacket. The plastic cord lock with one hole is less "elegant" for this application. I hope this info is helpful!

I purchased these Alcoon 40 Pieces Plastic Cord Locks for use on a bunch of small drawstring bags I am using for eye glasses, cell phones, small gadgets, etc...I am not impressed with either style of these cord locks and I am returning them. They just do not hold the bags closed very well, and these are small bags that are only about 3.5" x 7.5" and are microfiber.
