actually it let me know what any fluke , megger , or other high priced insulation tester would...if the device was bad, going bad or good...it told me what any other quality megger would....for a great price, really love the compact size, easily carried with me as a tech, perfect for the smaller controlsystems I deal with.

Excellent and cheap insulation resistance meter., know as a "Megger" the main use a person would have is to test the insulation on coaxial cable. I am a hamradio operator and being able to test coaxial feed line is very handy indeed conventional VOM, and DMM's will not give an indication of insulation resistance. What this will show you is if you have coaxial cable with a wet core. Unlike the cranked "Meggers" this instrument will not destroy what you are testing, it tests at up to 1000 volts but is has crowbar sensors that cut it off before their is damage if what you are testing is really bad, it is powered by a 9VDC battery so there is not much current to damage anything to begin with. This is an instrument that, to be honest, is not one you will use very often but as is often said; "there is no such thing as too much test equipment".The manual for this meter is in Chinese however there are several English language manuals on line just put Google "manual for Estone. insulation tester and you will find what you need.

I just want to inform future customers purchase this item. It doesn't come with an instruction sheet written in English. I attempted to use the FTP protocol with the link provided however I was unable to get past the login and password requirement to get to the manual. Hopefully, if you purchase this item, you will have better luck than I did or already know how to use this equipment.
