I used a Coated Powerstroke 3 by Remo for years. I just switched to Evans UV EQ4 and all I can say it's AWESOME. The underlay muffling ring seems a bit narrower than PS3 and I think that makes the head much louder and boomier. The EQ4 resonates longer than the PS3 but the resonation is a clear boomy tone.I love Evans!!!

Used coated PS3’s forever, but this has become my new kick head. The tone seems “rounder,” and you can’t forget the Level 360!

Put this on a 24” Pearl Masters Maple kick for recording, straight out of the box with just a nice even medium tension it was the best kick sound I’ve ever had. Highly recommend

Really sounds good. Nice solid thump for rock music. Haven't used a coated bass drum head in awhile. Nice control, punchy sound.

This drum head was visually appealing with its clean white coated appearance, especially on my white drum set. It was easy to tune and packed a nice punch when barely tightening it much. I left it loose to keep it from ringing too much. The head itself has a dryer, less resonating hit with its internal ring. I didn't add any muffling at all and it sounded great with a mild low end punch to it. With the supplied beater guard, I have a feeling this head will take a lot of abuse and last a very long time.

This is a well made drum. It holds together well even when played hard. My grandson loves to play the guitar and the drums. He has an inexpensive set and the Bass was wearing thin, he is loving this one, and it is a bit larger and louder than the one that came with the set. I am not sure about the louder part, but sometimes I just have to give in and spoil him, after all that is my job!
