The underwear is great quality and soft. They hold the moisture where it isn't ruining down his leg. Haven't had any bowel movements in it yet put judging from how it holds the urine, I'm quite sure it will do the holding for BM just as good.

These underwear are cute and the right size (a bit big for my tiny 20 month old) in the 18 month size. However, the training pants part which in theory should have a bit of extra absorption for leaks, is filled with fiberfill, which is hydrophobic so the pee just goes right through it. I am going to keep these and remove the fiberfill. I plan to use the pocket they created to add one or two layers of microfiber myself. I spent only a few minutes doing one already so it was an easy fix. Just a bit bummed that I got scammed into thinking that these would offer some measure of protection for potty training. They don’t. Also, the fiberfill isn’t listed on the label at all if that bothers anyone. It says 100% cotton only, which isn’t true.

So, these are a "get what you paid for" item. Most sets like this are much more expensive - or for this price you only get 3 pair. I took a gamble, and while I'm not unsatisfied, there are definite downsides to these underwear. The biggest thing is that there is *no elastic* in the leg openings and only a little bit in the waistband. The material has the typical stretch of a thin t-shirt, but the seams are not stretchy. The crotch area is well padded - almost a bulky, but since they're designed for absorption, that makes sense. They fit my small 16 month old fine. I don't love them, but they do the job.All in all, I'm not unhappy with the product I received for the price I paid, but I think I'll spend a little more in future to get something a bit better. I will say they looked great after several washes (the blues WILL bleed, so be prepared for the first wash!!), and they do a good job absorbing small accidents when we're out in public.
