Using it to puncture holes in thick paper. Sharp tool, works great. Comes with a cover, but that doesn't stay on. Easy to use.

I bought this to use as a scriber for panel lines and for pre scoring styrene sheets and it works really well. The handle is like my knife so learning to scribe with it made it easier. You do need to take light pases with it as the needle is long and using a metal ruler also helps. I have not tried it on cylindrical shapes but it works nicely on flat surfaces. I recommend it.

I needed a tool to punch an extra set of holes in some traps on a pair of sandals I bought and this little tool was just the right guy for the job. It pierced the leather strap with ease and didn't make the hole too big for the buckle.

This is my go to awl for paper embroidery. I find It light weight and comfortable to use. The needle is at the right size for most of my work. The needle does become dull after a while (3-4 months) but I use it a lot. And that said, it is sold at a reasonable price so I feel it is par for the course.

I use the awl to hold my PE pieces in place or move them into place if they have slipped, which mine often do because my hands are not very steady. So I use this to straighten those small pieces. Ihave also used it to start drill points to prevent my drill bit from slipping. Worked well. Product is sturdy and fits the hand well.

I love this tool. My previous one was twenty years old when I broke the tip off. I use it almost daily in my card making and couldn't survive without it
