I'll start by saying I really like this interpreting equipment. It's easy to use. The controls are tactile so you can turn units on and off, check or change batteries, etc., without looking--perfect for multitaskers and people who are blind. Also, there's only one channel, so you don't have to worry about having to reset when people mess with stuff. And of course, the sound and range are very good. I'm so happy with the equipment that I've ordered another set despite the problems described below. There are a couple of battery quirks. One is that the usual markers for positioning the batteries aren't obvious, so you have to remember how to put the batteries in: smooth side sticks out nearest the bottom edge, and bump side sticks out nearest the hinge to the battery compartment door. The other quirk is that the little door is hard to open and close when the batteries are in. Other reviews mention this. I thought the observation was odd, , but the door really is hard to open/close, sometimes so hard that you think you're going to break the unit. The quality control issue is this: one of my receivers stopped working after about fifty hours of use. I used the equipment to finish up a trial, and everything worked great. A month later, I used it for another trial, and on the second day, the receiver just stopped working. I tried changing the batteries. I put them in backward, couldn't open the door to pull them out, set up a different unit, and half an hour later, the defective receiver got hot. It got so hot that, after we removed the batteries, it took half an hour to cool down. Interpreting equipment needs to be reliable, especially when dealing with sensitive matters, so a faulty unit is a big deal.

I've been using these at work (interpreter); they've been holding up very well and all of the individuals I've used them with have told me that they hear me loud and clear.

I like this gadget, it helped my student with special needs, say their lines when they had their presentation. THe head piece was very fragile and small for my head.i wish they can make the earpiece for the receiver wireless.

I have no complaints now except that the battery springs are too strong and the battery covers are under great stress and may fail soon.
