The wood was sticky and dirty like other buyers have mentioned, but I am going to be making something out of it. I know each wood piece is unique, but therr really was no spalting on the piece i received (or very little). For 22 dollars I expected a beautiful piece of wood. This doesn’t fit the bill, will be returning it.

I don't usually write reviews and never a negative but I felt the need to let buyers beware. I'm not happy with the wood, all sides were rough, sticky and the colors and spalting just weren't what the pictures represented. For the small size and the high cost, I expected quite a nice piece of spalted wood. This is just not that at all. I was hoping to make a few sets of knife handle scales with some beautiful grained wood. Unfortunately this isn't it. So if your looking for highly figured spalted wood....keep looking.
