We have a split level house with a railing instead of a wall at the top which makes it incredibly inconvenient to install a gate! When I found this gate I thought we finally had a solution! I was so excited I stupidly ignored other reviews about warping gates and convinced myself that wouldn't be us!! It would be fine we would be able to just hinge it to the railing and have a gate we could open and close, but also fold back out of the way when we have to bring in groceries or move furniture! It started out great but slowly began to warp within two days of putting it up! At first it was fine, I was willing to put up with it, but it continued to get worse to the point where it began to look like a majestic ocean wave and would not fully collapse anymore! This was a total bummer for us but brought great joy to our devious mini dachshund who could just sneak under the bowed bottom! So this is getting sent back and we are back to the drawing board! Trust the reviews people, this gate is not the one!

When the expansion gate was hung, in the open position it was warped about 10 degrees off vertical. The hardware was skimpy and cheap. The closing latch wobbled and the closing pin was difficult to return to the closed position. The bottom latch was in essence a screw-in C hook, not a U hook and was difficult to insert into its corresponding eye latch. Poor design, cheap materials, not your usual Amazon product

These are tough to find for some reason, I was expecting to go into home depots, lowes or acos and buy one, no one has them, they just have those expandable ones. I need this to prevent my large GS puppy from rampaging in the basement, the expandables worked for a while but downside was when I wanted to go in the basement, which is multiple times a day, I would either have to step over it or take it down, and they can be tough to readjust to pressure fit. As he grew bigger he discovered he was able to knock it down if I didn't set it perfectly, they around 4th of July he grew a bit buggy with the fireworks and he flat out climbed over it, and once a dog discovers things like this they don't forget.So a "squeeze gate" as I call them seemed an answer to my problem, I've already had one for years from the kitchen to the living area. 1st problem with this one, while it looks nice and seems effective, it seems very chintzy compared to my other one. It works, it blocks the path, but if or should I say when he tests it by putting some weight on it, I think it has high odds of failure. Second downside was the joke of a hardware kit they sent with this, tiny little hinges and screws ? So I had to go to lowes and bought some proper eyebolts and hooks for the swinging side, worked fine. The spring lock on the lock side is an absolute joke, I am using it temporarily until I come up with something easier and more secure, problem is the wood is so thin there is not much you can attach to it without worrying about splitting it ,,, All in all this would be great for a small dog or baby perhaps, it looks nice but is somewhat fragile and they really skimped out on hardware, if it lasts 3 months I might jack it up a star

I wanted something that would open wider than the usual pressure mount walk through baby gate. This was tall enough to keep my dogs from jumping over it easily. They could get over if they tried but so far not worth the energy to them.Fairly easy to install. Can replace the screws provided with something longer to make it more sturdy of a mount. I do not like the locking mechanism but it was easy enough to switch things out for a hook and eye latch. The second one I bought I will install with a wood block to latch on to since it will have to hold up to my cats launching off of it.Opens wide.Easy to swing open or colaps to open.Holding up so far.Good enough I bought a second one.First one did warp a little so it is a bit tricky to latch the bottom but still works well.

great for carrying a baby & opening one handed. I got two & the install was fairly easy, it comes with extra hardware which was great because one of the screw eyes did break. Got them to keep our toddler off of the stairs & they do appear flimsy when she is standing, holding them but the latch is sturdy & gate has give so doesn't seem like it will actually break. both gates have a curve so don't sit flush on the wall but they don't swing open either.

I needed an accordion gate to keep my dog from running upstairs and sure enough Amazon filled the bill and delivered to my front door. When I read the negative reviews for this gate I was leery but decided to trust MY judgement and ordered. So happy I paid no mind to those negative reviews. Negative people must get off writing negative reviews. This gate is exactly as advertised. Good looking bamboo, easy to install, great price and it does its job well. Granted, this is not a security gate that will keep Goldfinger out of Fort Knox or kids from falling down the stairs. It’s a partition to keep a small dog off the stairs and that it does. These accordion gates are difficult to find in stores. As usual Amazon has it in stock and for $30 it’s a bargain. Decent construction, durability, easy to install and use, attractive open or closed. Great value, don’t pay any mind to the naysayers, buy it you’ll enjoy it.

We have a senior mini yorkie who is legally blind and loves to venture around the house and occasionally gets stuck in little nooks. This gate is great at keeping her in the living room when we are out running errands or having dinner.Oh, and we also used this on the stair case when she was younger because she can't do stairs.In summary, this is a great gate for the little ones because we have been using them everyday for the last few years. Highly recommend!

very stiff and difficult to adjust. I've bought less expensive ones that were much better quality. If I'd noticed it came from China before ordering I wouldn't have placed the order.

Je l'utilise pour éviter que mes poules montent l'escalier extérieur de ma maison qui accède à ma terrasse... et ça marche !!!Evidemment je ne l'accroche pas. Il est posé debout sur la dernière marche et bloqué par un pot de fleur. Système débrouille
