I won't lie-- it took me a minute to figure out how to disconnect the old tanks. I was really making it more difficult than it needed to be. After that, it was simple. I hooked everything up and ran water through the new tanks for a while before using the water. I didn't have any leaks and the RO water is still the best I've ever drank!

I applied little stickers to each end of the tubing to remind myself where it connected.Cleaning the inside of the ROM housing can be a pain if you don't have a decent brush and cleaning supplies. To be honest, they should have an option for the user to buy a brand new ROM housing.Everything went perfectly. No leaks. Back to great tasting and super clean water!I love my Express Water countertop RO system! But, why are these 6 month filter sets almost always SOLD OUT?

Once I diagram on paper where each one fits, and where each hose fits, they are very easy to install. Takes minutes.

The basic filter stages last us 9 months, and the R.O lasts us about 18 months.This is with 5 adults + 1 kid using it for daily drinking water.Do pick up the system/these filters, you will save SO much instead of buying plastic bottles.

I like it a lot and have reordered multiple times. It's not too expensive and easier than buying heavy water in bottles from grocery stores weekly. It tastes decent and the best part is that I don't have to clean limescale on my electric kettle. Which I hope that the filtered water is super clean. Installing was not easy but the video helped a lot. My only complain is the flow rate which is very slow. It takes 30 minutes - one hour to get decent amount of water for a day.

Saves me from buying bottled water, save money. And does my part in reducing plastic waste.RO is what most bottled water companies use, so why pay them when you can do it yourself and save money and the environment.

I first installed my ExpressWater Countertop Reverse Osmosis system a little over a year ago. I mounted it on the wall above my sink using the screw holes in the metal holder of the original system. I noticed a loss in water quality (some possible bacterial growth in my water jugs that competed with some cultures that I grow) after about one year, so I agree that the filters should be replaced at least by then. It is possible that the bacterial growth may have been in the filter medium or in the jug, but I would figure that if I have a jug that has ultra-pure water in it, I would not have any bacteria able to survive without nutrients. I'm not sure I would have noticed, if I was not doing this special activity with the water. However, after I changed the filters out, I noticed the water tasted even better.---Change your filters on the schedule to ensure the best water quality!This filter set is for replacement of the original filters from the system. In case anyone was thinking they could just buy this set and forget about buying the system to start out, think again! I think it would be impossible to set it up any other way because the ROM filter is placed into the enclosure from the countertop system and there is a black tube along the line that offers resistance to the water pressure so that the ROM actually works and discharges the undesirable water. I noticed that this black tube is not included in the set, so maybe it never goes bad. I hope that is the case.Overall, it was fairly easy to install the replacement filters. I needed a wrench/channel-lock to unscrew the ROM filter enclosure. I put a towel around it so that I didn't damage it. Everything sealed up just right.I will also note that I had trouble with the original system back when I originally purchased it because the tubes that connect filter to filter were not long enough to twist the filters so that they would not leak. The company made it right by shipping me a fair length of the tubing so that I could replace it and eliminate the leaks. That is good service!!!As for the quality of the water, I will first start by saying that water quality is very important to me and my family, and we have a water softener set up before the countertop set. The water softener removes the hardness (calcium) from it, so my ROM filter will last a lot longer with this particular setup (-- estimates I've read are up to 2X as long). When the water is first put through the system, some black charcoal water (and boy, can you taste it) comes through the spout, and after a few minutes of running, this goes away. The water then tastes excellent. I believe it is the purest water that I have ever had in my life.I want to also mention that I do not use the filter every day. I have it set up in the basement above the stationary laundry tubs. When I have not used it in a few days, the first water that goes through tastes a little different than the pure water afterward. I solve this problem by running it for a minute or two before putting the hose I attached to the spigot into my big water container. It takes maybe about an hour and a half to filter 5 gallons. My house has poor water pressure, so I think it might take longer for me than average.Overall, I am very pleased. I tested the water with a TDS (total dissolved solids) meter. The water after the water softener was 150 PPM. The water after the ExpressWater filter set was was 2 PPM!!!! That is very good, I think. I had the same result with some distilled water I bought from the store: 2 PPM. That makes me appreciate and recognize the quality of this filter set even more. The tea I brew with this water is pure tea. There's no awful background flavor. I think this water makes my oatmeal and hot cereals taste better, too. Life certainly is better with good, pure water, and ExpressWater certainly delivers!
