This is a great portable softball/baseball home plate hitting/pitching mat. I got it for my daughter's batting/pitching cage which just had a black mat with a plate thrown down. It serviced well enough but was getting really beat up and smelled like hot rubber on hot days. This one is thick rubber with bright plate & pitch zones which is a great contrast to the rest of the green - makes it really easy to see inside vs. outside pitches. Great for a target when I am pitching for them. *The photos made me laugh tho - its placed the wrong way. The plate should go over home plate and the player stands outside of the yellow lines. The green striped are strikes and the outer yellow stripes are balls (tho may be called strikes by some umps) - when dealing with inside/outside pitches. It is handy to help your batters see what is really a strike and what is close and helps them become effective in hitting both. It is super duty and very durable. Very easy to roll up and stuff in my gear wagon. Very happy with it.

I have purchased a different version, so was looking forward to the higher visibility color. When I received the product, it looked off and home plate was 20" instead of 17". I can still use it for warming up, but it's a wash for locking in locations at a high level.

It's built more like a floor mat. I'm not sure if it should be kept outdoors but indoors would be fine. The plate it bigger than a standard plate but it's a good practice tool for my daughter.

The base size is a little bigger than expected. It works well for a basic pitch zone and for batting practice

Home plate mat is perfect for seeing where a pitch crosses over or outside of home plate. Easy to roll up and durable. Colors make it easy for pitcher, catcher, or coaches to see the pitch path. About the same thickness as a rug. Rolls up nice when not in use.
