This barcode reader is odd. It works ok but there's no manual online to program this reader.

This mini portable 2D Bluetooth barcode scanner is a game-changer! It connects quickly, scans accurately, and is super lightweight. Perfect for on-the-go tasks when I work through the inventory of my small business. Nice to have this size vs the traditional scanners.

My old scanner is ten years old. Back then, a wireless scanner was a little too steep for me, price wise. This scanner is a nice upgrade. It connects wirelessly with a small USB dongle or through Bluetooth, which is what I'm using. It feels solid, but very light - lighter than what my co-workers are given. It scans incredibly fast compared to my old scanner. Part of this is the LED light that illuminates the scanning area (nice).I haven't gone into all of the settings yet, but I like how they're implemented. You can either scan a QR code in the manual or use the menu-driven interface on the LCD panel. Setting the time is interesting; you go to a website on your phone or computer and scan the QR code and the time is set. The last nifty feature that I probably won't be using much is the on-device storage. I plan on being connected to my computer whenever I use the scanner. However, if you're not, it saves the scans into its memory. When you connect to your computer you can upload the data.

What I Liked:Out-of-the-Box Performance: The scanner worked perfectly for all my basic barcoding needs without any setup required.Versatile Use: It performed excellently in everyday scanning without needing to attach it to my hand or finger.Impressive Capabilities: Handled 1D barcodes as expected and exceeded expectations with 2D barcodes, including QR, Mini QR, and Aztech barcodes.Optical Class Scanner: This scanner can read barcodes off LCD screens, which is a game-changer for reducing paper usage. It offers an affordable alternative to higher-priced competitors.Integration with PowerShell: Useful for generating and manipulating optical barcodes. This feature integrates seamlessly into workflows, scanning directly from screens to applications.Affordable and Lightweight: A cost-effective and lightweight tool with good ergonomics, though the power switch could be better positioned.Scanning Performance:1D Barcodes:Unsupported: Industrial 2 of 5, Plessey, PostNetSupported: UPC-E, EAN-8, ITF-14, Codebar, Code 128, Code 39, Code 90, Extended 39, Interleaved 2 of 5, MSI Plessey, PDF-417, SCC-14, Standard 2 of 5, UCC/EAN-128, UXX/EAN Shipping Container Code SCC-142D Barcodes:Unsupported: MAXICODE (PDF417 stack on Code128), Composite CodeSupported: QR, Data Matrix, GS1 Data Matrix, AztechWhat I Didn't Like:Manual Size: The manual is too small and hard to read, which can be frustrating.Surface Limitations: Struggles with mini QR codes on metal or polished surfaces, such as the backs of some Dell and HP laptops.Lack of Documentation: Difficult to find any information and support for this specific model online. Better keep your product manual safe and if possible, try to make a backup copy. The Bottom Line:Would I buy and recommend this scanner? YES! It’s a fantastic, clutter-free solution to multiple barcoding needs. It has quickly become a useful tool for me.

Summary/quick read: Setup is easy, scan speed is reasonable, randomly stopped scanning despite being 6 inches away.Details:This handy 1D/2D barcode scanner is great if you're like me and use software to inventory things like movies. The scan speed isn't the fastest I've seen, but it's more than sufficient considering it scans just about every type of 1D and 2D (QR code) symbology I've ever seen.I've also never seen a non-professional barcode scanner with a configuration display to configure it from the device itself without needing to use a manual. Extra credit to the manufacturer for including a paper/printed manual! For some reason yet inexplicable to me, when in pairing mode, I set it to Bluetooth HID (so it works like a keyboard) my Windows computer was seeing a ZWW BLE (bluetooth low energy) device - which isn't the mode it is set to. After 10 seconds, the BLE device disappeared from the list of devices detected and the correct device appeared. Once I clicked to accept the device, it worked immediately.During my testing of various UPC barcodes, the device just stopped transmitting to the computer... when I was 3 inches away. It didn't indicate it was in storage mode (there's a different icon for it), and at no point did it indicate what it was doing. The scanned code is displayed on the display so I know it scanned something. After performing a hard-reset (there's a printed QR code in the manual, or you can use the built-in menu) it worked fine.I just realized with the QR code capability, I can scan those random QR codes you see around town to see where they go - especially since there's now scammers out there that put fake QR code stickers on top of legit ones - this will be a good way for people to verify the QR shown is the intended one, without jeopardizing their own computer/going to a suspicious site. When a QR code is scanner, the scanner sends the text/URL as plain text to whatever app you currently have open.+ Tons of barcode symbology supported+ I tested UPC, QR code, micro QR (I didn't even know what it was, I started enabling each symbology one by one until the one in question started working)+- The beep tone is annoyingly loud. Fortunately, you can turn it down or off+ Liteweight and easy to hold+ The placement of the trigger/scan button on the top is an odd choice, I expected it to be on the bottom like every other trigger-based device.+ A display with useful information, including what was scanned+ An on-device menu to control settings is great. No need to hunt for the printed manual anymore. Fair warning, it's not entirely intuitive as you only have Up, Down and Select (the scan button) with a 3 line display++ A printed manual! I've had other barcode scanners and all they give is a small business card with a URL to get the manual.
