Makes re-threading m3 simple, especially in small aluminum pieces. Tap cuts cleanly and thread inserts give good bite. Used this on a couple of small antenna masts for RC receivers

The coils have no robustness at all. While trying to install the tangs broke 3 times instantly either at 0 threads or after 2 threads are installed. I stopped using before I ruin my hole. This is not my first time using coils, they are just low quality.

I have an old Egyptian FN49 rifle that someone stripped out the two lock screws under the magazine and trigger guard. I had already drilled out the old screws and bought two NOS ones. Once I figured out what size they were I ordered this kit. The drill had no problem going through the steel as I already had 3mm holes drilled. The tap actually worked pretty well, even using pliers as the handle. I thought the blue thing for breaking the piece off the coil doubled as a handle for the tap. My bad! At any rate it worked fine. I got first coil in and the tang snapped when it was halfway in. Btw, I only needed these to be 3mm long, not 6,but I couldn't find any. I ran the die through again thinking there might be a burr and tried another one, this time with oil on the coil. Same result as before. At least they're easy to rip out and toss in the trash! I finally got one in and ground off the piece hanging through. Broke a few more on the second hole and finally got it to work, although I had to run it through the backside. All in all it worked but I would still classify these as pretty much junk!

Used kit to repair brake line holder that was stripped out. Good (or better) than new...Drill and tap were perfect. Be careful to not bottom out the tap and tear out the threads.After ruining 4 inserts trying to thread them in, I sprayed one with WD-40 and it finally threaded in correctly. They would get close and the bunch up at the end and not fully install and get "stretched" and jump the threads.

The product worked as advertised. It's awesome that everything you need is included in the kit. I used it to repair an rc truck. The truck is running, the repair has held up. Good product.

Tool and coils worked really well in an aluminum case where the bolt goes through the bottom and then threads into the top to hold the two pieces together.
