It didn’t seem very sharp out of the box. But I was only using it on PVC pipe. After chamfering 15 pieces, which is 30 ends total, I’m noticeably having to push harder to achieve the same effect, and they were very smooth in the beginning and now they’re kind of rough.This is the only tool I’ve ever used so I can’t compare it to anybody else’s. I was using a hand tool with three blades in it before. Now that was awful!

Didn’t last through 5 stainless steel studs I cut. Don’t waste your money

I found that it can smooth the cut end of a bolt, making it easy to screw on a nut. During use, I discovered it's best to start at a low speed and apply gentle pressure until the desired taper is achieved.
