This is a good fix, will take a skilled mechanic to prep and install the new fix/replacement. The original gets knocked into the oil pan but sits on the bottom and shouldn't impact the engine at all. Only other was to fix is to remove engine, remove oil pan and reinstall oil pan, still with something like this and then reinstall which could be over a weeks worth of work for a good mechanic.
