The pipe uses 1 1/16" nuts on both ends and can require a lot of torque to break loose. The upper one at the firewall is relatively easy, I have a large-foot-long open-end wrench that I hit with a hammer after penetrating oil and mapp gas heat.I was not going to temp fate but ordered this pipe and it appeared to be a good fit so I broke loose the lower 1 1/16" nut at the exhaust manifold using a hydraulic spreader. It turns out this thing is very useful. It comes in a hydraulic body working kit. I placed the spreader flat on the frame with the same 1 1/16" long open-end wrench on the nut. The spreader has about a tonne of force and broke the nut free. When installing the new one use anti-seize on the threads of both ends.I did the EGR valve as part of a larger project to chase down an overall rich condition that was fouling the entire intake and exhaust system. To get to the injectors you need to remove the top of the intake manifold. That probably helps get this pipe installed because it is made of stainless steel and flexes very little. Before putting the intake manifold back on (there is a PVC hose below the intake that in my case was rotten and split; replace all with high-heat silicon vacuum lines) slip the pipe into place and then put the top of the manifold back on. With the manifold bolts installed loosely there is still quite a bit of wiggle room to screw on the bottom and then the top nuts to the EGR pipe. It is a tight fit but it is almost a perfect fit as well as you tighten everything down.In any event, this EGR pipe made of unobtainable was a great find, and in fact, fits not only the for 1990-1992 Ford Bronco L6 300 4.9L (4917cc) but also the 1990 F150 4.9L as well and probably the 91-92 as well. Please realize that these EGR pipes are engine-specific and vary between 4.9L, 5,0, and 5.8L

Close, but it took a lot of manipulation to get this to fit correctly!
