These crayons were easy to use, but I found them to be very light when using on the face. I was using it to write words on my daughter's face and I had to go over it several times for it to stand out. Also, they were a little messy and hard to use. They were hard for me to use because the crayons are short, so I had a hard time writing with them. Perhaps drawing would have been easier. Also, I found my fingers had color on them after use. I wish they had caps or some kind of protective barrel around them. These are good to play around with it and suited my purpose.

This set is a good deal in terms of the color selection. You get 36 colors, while most face painting kits around the ame price range only come with 12-15. Some of the colors are pretty unique, allowing you to do interesting effects such as shading when you draw with them. And they are also packaged really nicely in a plastic case with snap closures, allowing for easy portability. I really appreciate this, as all of the other sets I’ve ordered came in a single use cardboard box or plastic tray without a lid. One of the colors had a broken tip, but all of the others were intact. There is some foam lining the tops of the trays, protecting them from damage.The texture is on the waxy side and, while they are not waterproof or smudge proof, they last long enough to get through a party or festival if you aren’t sweating heavily. Unfortunately, the actual performance is really inconsistent. Some of these sticks are a lot better quality than others, showing up very pigmented and drawing a smooth line upon application, while others are hard, patchy, or very poorly pigmented. There is a good enough shade selection that you can probably make do with the higher performing colors and work around the bad ones.
