Why Choose Ported Enclosures?
As their name suggests, ported speaker enclosures are ported. Therefore, they are open to the environment and allow sound to escape and enter the enclosure.
A ported enclosure is designed with internal pathways and acoustic damping that effectively inverse the polarity of the rearward sound waves.
Therefore, upon leaving the enclosure, the rear sound waves now interact constructively, rather than destructively, with the front sound waves. In other words, the problematic phase cancellation has been solved. This results in greater efficiency ratings and less reliance on amplifier gain.

Ok, this box isn't a total waste as it's an easy way to get a box without making one. It comes with sticky backed pollyfill, but not enough. Be prepared to add your own if you plan to do so. Construction is acceptable for 8" and 6.5" subwoofers (need adapter for 6.5"). Problem areas are a terribly designed port and bad connector. Port should never have been cut into the box. I sealed that thing up first thing with butyl putty and construction tape. Second issue is the connectors. They are cheap and broke instantly when adding the wire connectors. Resulted in me removing one side, running wires through and soldering on my own plug. Sealed the connector with butyl putty. This will be an ok sealed box for a 6.5" subwoofer after doing some minor work to it.

Had to cut out to fit skar sub. Also the rest of the box is very thin besides the front. Causes vibration when putting a strong sub in. It’s only 40 bucks so can’t expect much.

Cheap junk. Spend the extra $20 on a decent box. The carpet was peeling right out the box, not ported just has a hole in it. This is a joke, and it isn't even a funny one

Look is it a $40 box, yes , so I didn't expect anything of amazing quality, but I did expect what was in their description to be accurate. It's was packaged well and was clean looking.First the box is made of the cheapest of press board, it's the same stuff you buy at Lowe's/depot etc that comes in 8x4 feet sheets and it's brown and you lay it on the floor. It's that stuff just thicker than Lowe's/depot..and you can tell by the color and smell.Second, the front speaker opening is the only part where the thickness is 5/8" everything else is 3/8".Third, three box is not ported! They cut a 3/8" by 7" slot out of the back piece. That's called vented, not ported.Again if you're ok with these inaccurate things, then for 40 bucks it's an ok deal. But honestly this is a $10 box at a max and still not worth it. I had to return it.

The product itself was just fine and arrived as ordered with no defects. The only issue was that my son had ordered the incorrect size, so I promptly asked to send back for a refund. The company was fast in answering me, with precise directions for me to return product- at their expense, and issued my refund before they had to have even received their product back!
