We purchased the switch to enable us to replace the standard switch in our RV. It was simple to install and proved to be very effective.

We use these in our sailboat to control 2 lengths of 12v strip lights. While the lights themselves have failed, these switches continue to work very well indeed. Happy with them, and the dimming feature is very nice.

Feels cheap, be ware, I think i ordered two different versions: one version the led is on when the lights are off which can be annoying at night the other the led only turns on when the lights are on

I found that this dimmer provides full-range dimming on my RV's interior LED puck lights and exterior LED strip light. As others have noted, this product requires a ground wire. It dims the high side (+12VDC), of the lamp circuit, so it isn't necessary to have the (-) wire directly from the lamps, so long as it has a ground wire. This may require some creative wire fishing, depending on your application. In my RV, the lamp (-) wires are connected to chassis ground, and the wires are hidden above the ceiling or below the floor. They generally are not routed back to where the power switch is located.Others noted that there is a small LED light in the center of each switch face. This light is not particularly bright, and it only is on when the switch is turned on, actively supplying current to the lighting circuit. So in a bedroom application, when the lights are out, the switch itself is not illuminated. To turn the switch on and off, only a brief touch to the center of the switch face is required. to dim the light, hold a finger on the center of the switch, and the switch will gradually dim to as low as it goes, and then gradually brighten to as bright as it goes. Just remove your finger when the brightness is where you want it. I have not yet tried this with hot/sweaty fingers, or really cold fingers. This method of actuation may not be as intuitive or convenient as turning a knob, but I rate it highly for very simple, pleasing appearance.

It works, wasn't hard to install, BUT very tricky to operate! Slide your finger up/down over the sensor. Doesn't keep last setting and comes on all the way down. Frustrating trying to get it to the desired brightness. I will be replacing this with a rotating knob type.

The LED lights in my RV are too bright, this dimmer was a great replacement. Easy to install and operates quite smoothly with a very light finger press and hold touch

I ended up buying two of these. One I split and used in two separate locations the other I kept as is to run four different LED pot lights in our RV. There is ample wire, it is well labeled and easy to install. There is an LED light in the switch that gives a lovely gentle ambient light so it is easy to find the switches in the dark.

The dimmer was the exact same as the one on the dining table light. This was to replace the switch for the 2 LED lights over the sofa on the back wall of the camper. As it can from the factory, the lights were too harsh when we were sitting in the living area watching TV. We needed the dimmer to tone down the harshness. I turned off power from the battery and disconnected the original switch. I found the power wire coming in to the switch and was able to discern the other wire was the 'run' to the lights. I made the connections and voila, we had an operational dimmer. Holding a finger over the light on the switch adjusts the brightness of the lights. Continue holding your finger over the switch light until the brightness is the way you want it. It works flawlessly.

The lights in our new Coachman Ultralite travel were so bright we felt interrogated each time we turned them on. Once we sorted out the wiring and figured out what was what with the 6 tied together ground wires, the installation was fairly easy. The dimmer works perfectly" tap: lights are on, tap again: lights are off. Hold finger on dimmer lights get dimmer and brighter in a cycle. No moving parts. Tiny indicator light provided to find where to tap in the dark when we first enter the trailer. The diagram seemed to require I find the ground for these lights - I suspect any ground would do and that would, if true, make installation trivial.

After three attempts I couldn’t get it to work. While the wiring and installation instructions are good, locating the corresponding wires in the RV is impossible without a factory diagram and those are not very easy to come by.Locating power for the dimmer is easy, locating and interrupting power to the lights is easy BUT locating the return (white) wire from the lights is just impossible without a factory diagram. One of the many but most likely neutral bus bar in my rig is located on the floor behind the stove near the outside wall. It’s out of reach and full, removing each one at a time to figure out which one is the right one is not worth it to me.I would rather purchase an entire new ceiling fixture with an integrated dimmer.

I ordered this to install with LED puck lights in my van. I hooked it up to the first two lights and it worked as advertised. I pulled the fuse, installed the rest of the lights and the switch stopped working. All the lights came on when I put the fuse in and the switch no longer functions.I contacted the seller and will update this review when the issue is resolved. When it was working, the switch worked well. It just takes a minute to learn how it works. I'm a little worried the little light in the center of the button might be brighter than I'll want in a small space like my van, but I'll have to test in the dark ( which is hard to do when the lights won't turn off.)UPDATE: The seller sent out a replacement, I installed it, and it's working perfectly. The illuminated "button" on the switch is not an issue when it's dark in the van. So the switch works, it's inexpensive and the seller stands behind it. I'm happy enough that I'll move forward with these in my build and possibly keep a spare on hand just in case.

Perfect for RV. I bought this to upgrade my lights above the bed. I wanted to be able to dim the 12 volt LED lights so I replaced the old LED lights with dimable LED lights and replaced the on off switch with this dimmer. This dimmer switch is very small, check the specs before ordering. It is flush mount but does not protrude from the wall very far. Please note - many RV light switches only interrupt the 12v positive wire. This dimmer requires you to connect the negative wires also (positive in, positive out, negative in, negative out). If you can’t locate the negative wire going to your lights, this dimmer won’t work. I used a multimeter to help me with the wiring. After installation, the dimmer works exactly as advertised. Easy to use, no glitches or quirks. Highly recommend.
