This limits the locations to purchase USA-made shackles to only your local rigging supply store. Factor 55 has partnered with the Crosby Group to offer its quality shackles. These shackles can sometimes have small blemishes after their powder coating. These blemishes do not affect the shackle’s ability to outperform low-quality imported shackles in any way. This shackle is most common for truck, jeep, and SUV applications with a 7/8-inch diameter pin and comes in black or high-visable red powder-coated finish. WLL: 4-3/4 Ton (9,500 lbs.). MBS: 57,000 lbs.

Candidly, I was expecting better quality control on the red powder coat finish. The premium price,Factor 55 Brand, as well as USA Made by Crosby left me a bit puzzled. I have applied powder coatto lots of fishing gear hardware and I believe a 1st Grader could have done a better job. LOLAlso, most heavy shackles I have purchased over the years have a small amount of oil applied to thethreads. Some of the powder coat was covering the threads. I'm not sure if their application is done by humans or machine, but poorly done on this shackle. Once again, these details matter on super premium hardware being sold at a premium dollar.The shackle that I received was new, but the powder coat was inconsistantly applied, delaminatingwith very sharp burr defects. I will not be returning it, but will quicklyremove the burrs and put it to use.Summary: Heavy duty super premium hardware that is made in the USA. It will do the job within loadspecs, but don't expect the powder coat finish to be anything better than mediocre. The coating does notmatch the quality pictured in the item's description. Because there are other premium USA Made options,I would likely hesitate to buy again at the full list price.
