This stuff is going to be ideal for little terrarium/diorama craft scenes. It's very much fake, and feels like it'll hold up well to handling/shaping/gluing and time. I personally don't think it looks great around potted or fake plants that someone is trying to get a real moss vibe with, but for small scale micro-designs, absolutely. It's unique and can be combined with other more traditional fake moss or plant materials to create some really neat textured ground covers.

This fake moss is so weird—and I love it. As someone with years in the reptile and invertebrate hobbies, I’ve used plenty of live moss species, so I had to try this out. First things first: this is not for reptiles, amphibians, or inverts. It’s essentially string crimped at tiny intervals to create a fluid, shredded-fabric texture. It’s strictly for decorative use, as it could pose risks like intestinal blockages or bacterial growth if used in animal enclosures.The color is a rich, springy olive green that mimics live moss well, though it might be a bit too bright for some projects. I originally got it to cover the "substrate" (random packing foam) in faux potted plants. It works well with low-lying plants like ferns and ivy but can look obviously fake with taller plants or trees.Where it really shines is in crafting. It’s easy to apply with hot glue -- just use the glue sparingly and would be great as an accent on biophilic decor, in DIY plant walls, in faerie gardens ... or even as grass in Easter baskets. The moss comes compressed and vacuum-sealed, and once fluffed up, it expands significantly -- I filled a 2-gallon zipper bag!I’m excited to experiment with this in the coming months. I have cats that like to dig into my plant pots. This is an easy to use and simple cat deterrent. Ever since putting this around my potted plants I have had no more cat digging issues. It looks lush, green, and yes, a bit fake. I’m ok with that given that it does what I need it to do. It is stretchy and easy to apply and a little goes a long way, which is nice. I’m very happy with this and would buy again. Good value for price.

I love to either put decorative rocks or artificial moss around my potted plants, whether they be for my real plants, or my artificial plants.It’s really nice to see that Amazon has listed this product, my fake green moss, as #NUMBER ONE new release in Floral Moss. I have to add that even though it’s 5.3 ounces of artificial moss, it looks like a ton when you get it out and spread it out over your plants. I love having this bright, gorgeous, green, artificial moss around the plants to make them look that more vibrant and alive.What’s really cool and I did not know until I started to lat down my moss, is that if I stretch the artificial moss out, it looks like strings then I can cut it so it looks a little more organized and I waste less. I can then form it in, and around my plants. Plus, I love that there’s no maintenance required other than just laying it down and watching it look beautiful. Because it’s non-fading, and it can be used indoors or outdoors, it also won’t change its color. It also won’t weather or it won’t look awful with the passage of a little time.The price at $9.99 is very fair when I’m looking at how much this spreads out and how much I can actually use it. And since this artificial moss is made of a high-quality nylon material, it’s odorless, water permeable, and safe to be around the moss and breathe.This moss is 5.3 ounces actually lays out to an area of 11.8“ x 70.8“ so it really does stretch out and cover a large area. I love the bright color of green and what it does especially for my artificial trees. I can’t imagine not using this moss in my, and around my plants and trees.

I know, it is fake, so I shouldn't be surprised that it looks and feels fake, but I thought they'd do a better job of trying to make it realistic. I'm just going to put it in the top of a potted tree so I can get away with it looking pretty fake, but if I were trying to craft with it, use this in something a little more up close or obvious, it wouldn't work.
