This works. If you have keyless entry & ignition, your car and contents are vulnerable, but if you slip the fob into the pouch, it ceases to exist as far as radio signals are concerned. With old-style car keys, I used to just hide the key on top of a wheel, or inside the body work when I wanted to surf, swim, or walk on the beach. But with the keyless system, if I put it anywhere near the car, I might as well not bother to lock it because the car will detect the proximity of the fob. But with the key in the Faraday bag, I can go back to my old tricks.Be sure to put the fob in the innermost opening of the bag. There's a front pouch that looks like the right place, but there's a second opening. Find that opening and test the device to be sure.

This is a small Faraday pouch that blocks the RF signal from the key fob. It has two pockets, the back (larger) one is the one that blocks the RF. The front pocket does not. The back pocket has a small chain and ring so you can attach your fob to the ring. Keep in mind that for keyless entry and start, you have to take it out of the pouch.I tested it out by placing my key fob in the back pocket of this pouch. I was unable to unlock the car even pressing the pouch right up against the handle. Once I removed the fob from the pouch, the car got the signal and unlocked as soon as my hand touched the handle. Placing the key fob in the front pocket did not block the RF, as expected.I have worked with teams over in Europe that are having a problem with thieves using antennas to boost the signal from nearby fobs in people's houses and stealing cars right out of the driveways. I figured I would get ahead of the problem as it won't be long before they are doing that here too.
