This doesn't work... I can still enter my car with the fob inside... So what is it actually blocking?

You can't do anything til you remove your fob from pouch. I was skeptical, not any more!

Feel safer with your car Fob protected. A woman in the neighborhood had her car stolen when the thieves copied the signal from her Fob which allowed the thieves to open and start her car. Putting your fob in a faraday bag keeps the fob from receiving a query or sending the code which protects you from having your lock compromised. My wife uses the pink one and I use the black. These pouches fit easily in her handbag, but are rather bulky for my pants pockets. You also have to take the fob out of the bag for it to work with the car. This kind of defeats the convenience of keyless entry and start since you now have to take the bag out of your pocket and the key out of the bag to enter the car or to start it.These are the kinds of costs that criminals force on the rest of us. You can choose the convenience of the keyless open and start, at the cost of a slight risk of loss; or you can gain additional security at the cost of the inconvenience of using a faraday bag like this. Depending on where you live and travel, these bags may be worth the effort. We don't use them all of the time, but we do when we go someplace at higher risk.It is also worth doing your homework. Some cars are easier or harder to steal by hijacking the signals. And some cars are more worth the expense and effort to steal them. Similarly, the technology and sophistication of the cars and the criminals is changing pretty rapidly over time.

It's a little difficult to review an item designed to prevent theft. I mean, how do you know if it works? You can really only know if and when it doesn't.So, all I can report at the moment is that no one has stolen my car since I have begun placing my key fob in this Faraday bag.Now, to be a bit more serious: when you purchase a product like this one, what you purchase is relief from worry about car theft. And it has done exactly that for me. Worries are gone.

I have had intermittent experience with the item. Sometimes it won't allow me to start my vehicle and others it will. Additionally,I have been able to unlock and open my car door while my fob is in this item. Additionally, it is a bigger than I expected.
