It's nice having a mechanical timer that can survive outdoors. Even if water gets in it just has to dry out to work again. No circuitry to destroy inside like my other wifi enabled ones (I've had two die so far from rain). The cord itself seems to be good quality as well.

We used this for our outdoor Christmas lights. The cord is nice and long exactly what we needed and I like that there are two plugins to use. There are included covers for the plugins but we didn't need to use them, they are attached to the cord so you won't lose them when not in use. Even though this is weatherproof we still have it in a box for extra protection.I found the timer a little confusing and the pins were a little hard to move up and down at first. Also, the latch to keep the timer covered is really hard to open, I don't know if that is why they included a tiny flathead screwdriver or what that was in there for, maybe to help with the pins?Ultimately, it seems to be working well and our lights are coming on every night but I'm still not 100% sure the timer is super accurate.

I didn’t expect this to be as nice as it is. The cord itself is pretty heavy duty and comparable to other “medium duty” extension cords that I own. The plug ends appear to have weatherproofing seals molded into them to prevent water from entering the sockets. The timer unit is a bit small and could be tricky to set if you have fat fingers but with assistance of the included mini screwdriver, I had no troubles. The plastic cover over the timer snaps tightly into place to keep water out of the timer unit. I would expect this unit to last several years in our Buffalo winters.

I purchased this hoping it works out perfect for Christmas or easily turning a lamp on inside the house at certain times while we are away. I really wanted this to work and gave it a lot more time in several days of failed efforts becoming frustrated and very disappointed in various respects:1: The 3 set pins for [Current Time] [Time Start] [Time End] are near impossible to grasp to pull up. Most timers have pins that require these set times, but this one has 48 pins that need to be set each time. It has one pin for every half hour in 3 settings, for a total of pushing down or pulling up 144 pins. Beyond this tedious number, there is no easy way to know which pins are already up or down. You need a high-powered light with magnifying glass and have to feel for a difference on which pins are up or down. When I push one pin, two or three neighboring pins also inadvertently go down. The larger size of your finger makes it worse. I wonder how does that make sense that it is designed that 3, 4 or 5 pins can be pushed; shouldn’t it be mutually exclusive?2: After you set each set of 48 pins, you have to set the dial, but hard to tell how. The instructions are a vague photocopied one-page limited instructions of where the settings are. Nothing much about these pin differences.3: There is no [On] [Off] switch to keep the unit programmed with set pins. The only alternative I seem to have is removing the electrical plug from the wall outlet.4: The timer, rendered useless, cannot be separated from the extension cord; it is one hardwired unit.I am otherwise somewhat pleased that I have a strong and durable extension cord. It carries a lot of unsightly bulk ‘dead weight’ to have around that doesn’t work. With all the tediousness from poor design, I am sorry to say I am not happy with this purchase and highly state “don’t buy it.” —-it is sure to disappoint.
