We have one of the "smart bird feeders with the camera". We love it and so did the squirrels and racoons. I bought this, wrapped 3 zones of wire-mesh around the tree (with 1 inch gap between each) and mounted the bird feeder on the middle section. Wired the top and bottom sections together connected to one output, and the middle section to the other. Worked a treat. Squirrel only had to get a shock once and now stays clear.

I’ve been using patriot and I have gone through so many of them. Yes some of them were my fault. You know they hit a wire deer hit them in the wire went into a wire fence and shorted it out since then done the best I can possibly do putting up putting mulch down so the weeds don’t grow, I turned this thing on and tested it and it was like 7.8. The other brand I just bought it says two point something I’ve been buying these and Rebuilding this patriot brand I don’t care if the patriot brand still works a little bit it doesn’t work like this and for the cheaper model of patriot it’s $38 for the one with more power that is not as powerful as this one it’s $50. This is definitely worth your money and I wish I I knew about this one first haven’t had it long so maybe I can come back and tell you it lasted more than a year but if these don’t last more than a year, it’s because something went wrong a wire hid into it or weeds or whatever so you know you gotta watch where you have it and take good care of it but we’ll see. I have two wire fences and I need the second wire to work just as good as the first word so I’m purchasing the second One.

Good for small animals, would not recommend for large dogs or anything over 80lbs. It's a good value for the price, but know a large animal will push through it. ALSO NOTE, it is NOT waterproof.

Like all electric fence chargers it must be protected from the elements. But it was easy enough to put inside the garage and plug in near the outlet only having to drill one 3/8" hole through the exterior wall to run the power cable and ground wire to the charger. It has a blinking light that shows it's charging the fence tape. All I have to do is glance at the light to know it's not grounded off somewhere on the tape.My Great Pyrenees, Molly, has not been able to get out of the yard since I put this charger and fence up in a relatively inexpensive way compared to the larger area fence chargers. I'm very happy with this fence charger. It's very cost efficient.
