About this item

  • Single-coil Pickup Set f Telecasters with Chrome Neck Pickup Cover
  • Included Installation Hardware

Fender Twisted Tele pickups deliver hot high-output Telecaster guitar tone with a dash of sparkling Stratocaster guitar character. Each pickup is tailored to its position (neck and bridge) to achieve its individual sonic character. The neck pickup's taller bobbin is designed to accommodate more windings, combined with a slightly shorter bridge pickup bobbin for dark full-bodied midrange.

The neck mic is the best I ever tried. There is a lot of strat sound from the neck. The bridge is great for those who want a little more classic tele ”chainsaw” sound. The between sound is the best, noiseless and also strat sounding but still tele sound. Best buy ever for my Tele, and at budget price.

Just the right amount of too much. The neck pickup sounds really good, crisp, clean and full. The bridge pickup has a thicker sound, kinda chunk but still plenty bright, and a little distorted, though I do have it adjusted kinda high. These pickups nail the southern rock / blues tone pretty well though. I installed these at the same time as the Hot Rod bridge, and now my Player II Tele has a whole new sound, much fuller, less piercing.

This is a 5-star product but a 1-star review. I don't feel that my issues with Amazon Warehouse should result in a 1-star rating for Fender - My issue is with Amazon and their used warehouse items.I opted for the "Used - like new" item as it was $50 cheaper but what I got was crap. The neck pickup was the wrong one and wiring was incorrect. And though the bridge pickup tested OK (5.9 ohms), I'm not too sure about it being correct either. Aditionally, the neck pickup cover was dented and scratched and the wiring was altered. Finally the Amazon warehouse stock numbers on the OEM packaging are different than the numbers on the case and the packaging was old and torn and some of the hardware and rubber "springs" were gone.I've played these pickups before and they are very nice but watch out for crap from the Amazon warehouse.

By far the best sound for your tele . Leans towards the sparkle of the strat while maintaining the sound of the tele

Was excited to install these into a custom Tele build I'm doing. The threading of the top screw hole is at a 15-20 degree angle, making it impossible to thread a screw straight through the pickguard into the pickup. It also doesn't quite fit through the pickup slot in my standard Tele bridge. You can get it to go through by twisting and turning, but when it's in the 'right' spot, it seems ill-fitted. Extremely disappointing. I could drill and retap the hole, but for $220, I shouldn't have to do fabrication to get them to fit. While the box was shrinkwrapped, the black cardboard packaging had scuff marks on it that looked like it had been returned before. I'll return it and give it one more chance before I go elsewhere. I'll update my review if the replacement works as expected.

All I can say is I have never felt this way for a guitar pickup before. Before these pickups I had the fender vintage noiseless (too mid scooped will not cut through a mix) these pickups are articulate and powerful with a very usable volume sweep. The neck pickup is “strat like” but still has that smooth spherical sound like a normal tele. Basically like a strat if you shaved off the ice pick highs. The bridge isn’t overly bright and sounds great through an amp with a complex midrange (ie: vox/marshall/orange). One recommendation for great tone is crank these pickups as low as they can possibly go in the pickguard/bridge. They are very hot so you shouldn’t notice much volume loss but I find that the tone becomes more 3d, clear, and complexed when set this way. When cranked up too high the bridge/middle pos can sound like a poopy fart.Happy playing,-Steamy ray Vaughn

Put these in a MIJ 52 reissue to replace the vintage pick ups. The custom shop pups put out more sound, better clarity, sound great clean and handle gain very well. Did away with the harsh ice pick sound in the bridge and it’s easily controllable with the tone knob. The bridge sounds more strat like but it’s a great mix of sounds. Rekindled my love for the tele

I just bought a new 2020 MIM Telecaster Player series from Guitar Center (Traded in an older sunburst MIM Tele that just did not feel and sound right.) The new Telecaster was a beautiful sea foam color and play-ability was great. The tones from the pickups were better than any of the other Tele's they had (even the made in USA ones) Just had to have it. When I got it home I found that the Bridge pickup lacked the sparkle, tone and sustain qualities of my early 90's MIJ Telecaster. After a lot of research and asking around I ended up getting this set of pickups. The neck pickup was great and was a very usable pickup. (More so than the neck pickup in my MIJ) The bridge pickup has a great clean tone with plenty of sparkle and spank. I used the new guitar for a gig last weekend and did not have to switch back to my MIJ mid show because the new guitar with the new pickups was "Getting the job done, and then some". Definitely made the new MIM Tele shine. Is it worth the hefty price tag? Hard to say as I have not been able to compare it to other less expensive pickups. All I can say is that they were quiet (no line noise) and sounded great at low clean volumes and distorted going thru a Ratt pedal. Would I buy it again? Probably. I have to say that I came away from that gig not disappointed at all with the tone and reaction of the new pickups....
